Seth Rogen’s The Studio Season 2 Gets Official Apple TV Release Window

The Studio season 2 is on its way sooner than most expected.

The Studio is a satirical comedy series created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez. The show centers on a Hollywood studio executive dealing with the pressures that come with the entertainment industry while trying to still stay true to himself in a field that is constantly changing.

The Studio’s second season has officially secured a release window for its second season on Apple TV+. The comedy series was given a 2026 release window. The announcement comes as part of a broader update from Lionsgate’s quarterly earnings, which also revealed mixed commercial success likely caused by the timing of its current slate of shows.

Neither Apple nor Lionsgate provided an exact premiere date or specific months for the Apple TV+ original. However, the latter’s report did confirm that The Studio season 2 will air later this year. The first installment of the series was well-received, making it one of the most popular comedy shows on the streaming platform.

The Studio season 1 has an incredible ensemble cast. Its star-studded lineup included Rogen (Matt Remick), the late Catherine O’Hara (Patty Leigh), Ike Barinholtz (Sal Saperstein), Chase Sui Wonders (Quinn Hackett), and Kathryn Hahn (Maya Mason). The Studio also features several big-name actors in recurring roles, such as Bryan Cranston (Griffin Mill) and Dave Franco as himself.

The update comes during a more difficult phase for Lionsgate’s TV shows. The specific division’s revenue dropped significantly in the most recent quarter, falling from $543.3 million to $254.6 million. It is speculated that the drop could have something to do with the series’ release schedules, as fewer shows aired within this specific timeframe.

Profitability also saw a decline, falling from $40.6 million to $30.5 million compared to last year. However, despite the downturn, Lionsgate assured audiences that it would continue to support both returning and new series. The company also expressed its confidence in several of its popular shows, such as The Rookie: North and the final season of Yellowjackets, to put it back on track.

There is no confirmed release date for The Studio season 2 at the time of this article’s publication. However, it will be released in 2026 on Apple TV+.
