The Life is Strange television show, following years of development, has finally received a green light from Amazon MGM Studios as they’ve officially ordered a series. One of the original game’s writers responded to the announcement on social media, stating in a post, “The only parties missing are the creators.
According to a recent discovery by IGN, Christian Divine – the author of the initial two Life is Strange games – shared something new, but has yet to provide additional insights on the matter.
It’s been noted that the recent announcement by Amazon MGM Studios regarding Life Is Strange didn’t give credit to the original creators, Dontnod Entertainment, or any of the original writers. Interestingly, when the show was initially announced in 2016, there was no reference made to Dontnod either.
In his personal social media message, the creator Luc Baghadoust from Don’t Nod expressed deep gratitude and pride in witnessing Life is Strange being transformed into a television show.
As a devoted fan, I must admit that Dontnod Studios have been absent from the Life is Strange universe for quite some time now. Instead, it’s Deck Nine who’ve been steering this emotional ship since they took over. Interestingly enough, Square Enix maintains ownership of the Life is Strange series. The most recent addition to the series is Life is Strange: Double Exposure, which graced us with its presence in 2024.
The Life is Strange television series is being spearheaded by Story Kitchen, producers of Sonic the Hedgehog, in collaboration with Margot Robbie’s production company, LuckyChap, as well as Square Enix.
Charlie Covell serves as both the originator and manager for the series, having previously reworked “The End of the Fing World” and “Kaos.
Life Strange enters the fold with Amazon, alongside the Tomb Raider series in development, as well as the long-awaited God of War sequel and Fallout’s second season. Additionally, Amazon is home to the upcoming Mass Effect TV adaptation and Wolfenstein’s small screen venture.
As an ardent admirer, I’m excited about the Life is Strange TV series, but we’re just at the beginning of its journey. Regarding the cast and potential release date, details are still under wraps for now. Stay tuned for more updates!
