Fans Believe The Punisher And Daredevil Are Getting A Spider-Man: Brand New Day Scene Together, And I Don’t Think It’s A Stretch

There’s a lot of talk surrounding the next Marvel movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and it’s hard to separate fact from fiction. Is this Tom Holland’s last time playing Spider-Man? Could The Punisher get a partner? We don’t have solid answers yet, but I’m especially excited about the recent buzz suggesting Charlie Cox’s Daredevil might appear in the upcoming film. I find the new speculation very intriguing.

The main reason I’m not immediately dismissing the Daredevil rumors is that they aren’t based on wishful thinking with weak ties to Jon Bernthal’s potential return. Instead, they stem from recent shifts in Charlie Cox’s schedule. He was originally scheduled to attend SpaceCon in San Antonio from October 24-26, and plans included photo opportunities with his former co-star, Krysten Ritter, but that’s no longer the case, as you can see in the post below.

Regarding what Charlie Cox is working on currently, it’s been announced he’ll be in a new science fiction film called Synthetic, with Haley Bennett. However, reports indicate filming for the movie, which took place in Kentucky, has already finished, meaning his inability to attend a recent convention is likely not related to that project.

It’s not surprising that Cox might have committed to other work, but fans are especially interested in why he canceled a scheduled appearance. This is because Jon Bernthal also recently canceled a convention appearance, as shown below, and many believe this suggests they’re both available to film together for Spider-Man: Brand New Day around the same time.

Check out how NYCC alerted fans in a recent Instagram post:

  • We’re disappointed to share that due to his production schedule, Jon Bernthal can no longer attend NYCC 2025. We hope to have him join us in the future.

I believe everyone would agree that if these constant reschedulings are occurring for projects other than Spider-Man: Brand New Day, then… it would simply be a shame, to be honest.

Just to play devil’s advocate for a moment, it’s quite possible – or even probable – that Charlie Cox won’t appear in other major MCU films, even though his Born Again co-star Jon Bernthal is moving from the upcoming Punisher Special Presentation to join forces with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. The movie is already featuring Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk, the villain Scorpion, and other unexpected additions, so including Daredevil for just a scene or two might be too much for a film centered around a solo hero.

Let’s move past the doubts, because I really hope this rumor is true. I might not need to see Spider-Man, Punisher, and Daredevil teaming up in a live-action fight, but it would definitely be something exciting to anticipate in 2026. And what’s the harm in speculating even further?

Could Krysten Ritter also join Daredevil and The Punisher? She’s already confirmed to reprise her role as Jessica Jones for Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, so is it too far-fetched to imagine her filming in London around the same time? It’s possible, but we’ll have to wait and see. However, if anyone spots her on a flight with Mike Colter, it’s time to raise the Defender alert!

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is set to hit theaters on July 31, 2026.
