It’s that time of year again – One Chicago season is upon us! I’m already anticipating all the dramatic, fictional crises NBC has planned for the Windy City with the premieres of Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, and Chicago P.D. in the 2025 TV season. Each show left us with such different cliffhangers in the spring: Med ended with that shocking twist regarding Hannah’s pregnancy, we got some really sweet pregnancy news for Kidd and Severide on Fire, and P.D. gave us a wedding that was beautiful, but also a little heartbreaking.
If you’re anything like me, you probably want to watch the new episodes of these shows live on NBC instead of waiting to stream them with a Peacock subscription. Let’s watch together and discuss all the exciting moments, disappointments, and everything else that happens when One Chicago comes back!
As I’m watching this episode live and providing commentary, you’ll see my reactions appear from newest to oldest. It’s a bit unusual, I know! But don’t worry, once the live watchalong is over, the order will automatically switch to show the oldest comments first and then move towards my most recent thoughts. So, bear with me for now, and you’ll have a perfectly chronological record soon! You can find more information about how this works on the FAQ page.
What To Expect From NBC’s One Chicago Premiere Night
As a big fan of the One Chicago shows, I always look forward to the fall premieres! And, like clockwork, the first One Chicago Wednesday of the season will kick off with Chicago Med at 8 p.m. ET. The Season 11 premiere is titled “We All Fall Down,” and NBC has given us a little sneak peek with their episode description, so here’s what we can expect:
A family who survived a house fire is quickly transported to Gaffney for medical attention. Lenox works tirelessly to help two sisters who were hurt at an all-night rave that ended in disaster. Meanwhile, Goodwin and Abrams are increasingly at odds due to challenging decisions about staffing.
It’s important to note that this doesn’t reveal anything about the suspenseful scene of Hannah knocking on Archer’s door, or what the show’s creator, Allen MacDonald, shared with us regarding Med‘s 200th episode and the return of Nick Gehlfuss. However, viewers can expect to have some questions answered soon when Season 11 begins.
Chicago Fire returns for its 14th season with a new episode premiering at 9 p.m. Eastern Time, and there are some changes to the cast. It’s unclear how much the show will focus on the departures of characters Carver and Damon. Only Daniel Kyri, reprising his role as Ritter, will return to wrap up any remaining storylines. Here’s what NBC says about the episode, titled “Kicking Down Doors”:
The arrival of a new member at Firehouse 51 creates some friction, and increasing turmoil in the city presents the team with fresh difficulties. Meanwhile, Herrmann is hesitant to hand over his office to Mouch.
Honestly, I shouldn’t have expected Herrmann to leave his position quietly so Mouch could take over! I can understand why he wouldn’t want to give up the Firehouse 51 office, though.
Regarding Chicago P.D. at 10 p.m. ET, the team will face fallout from their actions in the last episodes of Season 12, which aired this spring. The Season 13 premiere, titled “Consequences,” will include:
Voight joins forces with a surprising partner to capture a dangerous criminal, all while working to rebuild his Intelligence team.
Tune in to see which premiere is the most satisfying, most game-changing, and most memorable!

Hannah’s Baby Daddy Revealed!
The show’s creator wasn’t exaggerating when he said we’d find out who the father is and why Hannah was at Archer’s door very quickly! I’ve been debating what I hoped would happen since the end of Season 10, but bravo to Archer for how he handled it – I’m definitely on board! And I still think my take on the Crunch Berries comment from last season is really funny. It’s amazing to be accidentally right about something!
Starting The Season With Some Burns
Out of all the characters in NBC’s Chicago franchise, this woman, who suffered burns covering 90% of her body, is the one I feel the most sympathy for. The rest of the night has to really deliver if it’s going to make me feel worse for someone else. One Chicago has a lot to prove.

Where’s Maggie?
Chicago Med quickly addressed Maggie’s departure, which viewers anticipated following the news that Marlyne Barrett was taking a leave of absence. Currently, all we know is that Goodwin informed Dr. Charles she hasn’t had any contact with Maggie since she left. Doris is now serving as the charge nurse.
