Christopher Meloni Addresses Law & Order Spinoff Cancellation 10 Months After Last Episode

A significant television series is coming to an end. After many years and several successful spin-offs, Law & Order: Organized Crime has been cancelled, marking the end of another chapter for this long-running franchise.

NBC has cancelled the Christopher Meloni series, and its fifth season—now streaming on Peacock—will be the last.

Christopher Meloni, best known for his many seasons playing a partner to Mariska Hargitay’s Olivia Benson on Law & Order: SVU and later starring in Law & Order: Organized Crime, announced the news. He understandably showed a lot of emotion while sharing the news and a sincere message for his loyal fans of the character Stabler.

“Hey everyone. Just saw that they announced Organized Crime won’t be coming back,” he said via Instagram. “I wanted to take this moment to say thank you to the fans who not only helped give the character Elliott Stabler life and longevity, but for sticking with him and welcoming him back. Good ride. It was a good ride. I had a great time playing him. It was a great ride, but, thank you. You helped give me a career that I never dreamed of — nearly 17 years.”
