During CinemaCon, Jason Momoa discussed the idea of his Aquaman character meeting Lobo, jokingly imagining how they’d get along. He thinks if they were ever in a movie together, it wouldn’t be a fight – they’d likely have a friendly relationship.
The actor admitted he believes the two characters would instantly hit it off, saying they’d probably bond over a lot of beer and quickly become friends. He then playfully suggested they’d be popular enough to warrant their own movie, and even hinted that James Gunn might be the director to make it happen. Peter Safran chimed in, jokingly predicting the film could be released as early as 2031.
Warner Bros. shared these comments during their CinemaCon presentation, where they also showed new clips from the upcoming Supergirl movie. The preview gave fans a better look at the film, especially focusing on Jason Momoa’s character, Lobo. Momoa, known for playing Aquaman, said landing the role was a long-held dream, explaining, “I used to collect this comic book!”
Milly Alcock stars in the film as Kara Zor-El, Superman’s cousin. The character was previously seen in Superman, making a quick appearance to get her dog, Krypto, before leaving. Alcock described the experience as “incredibly transformative, both personally and professionally.”
Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film is scheduled to be released in theaters on June 26, 2026.
