Marvel fans are buzzing about a new casting possibility! A hugely popular actor is now being considered for a role in the upcoming X-Men reboot, and they seem to have all the qualities the part needs: charisma, strength, and a cool, commanding aura.
Sydney Sweeney rumored to be eyed for Emma Frost in X-Men reboot cast
Rumors are circulating that Marvel Studios is considering Sydney Sweeney to play Emma Frost in the upcoming reboot of the X-Men series. The news was shared on X (formerly Twitter) by insider @MyTimeToShineH and quickly gained a lot of attention, racking up over 2.2 million views in just a few hours.
Since appearing in Madame Web, Sydney Sweeney has become a popular choice among fans for various Marvel roles, including Power Girl and Black Cat. At 28 years old, she’s the right age for a character Marvel could build into a long-term, multi-film storyline.
Emma Frost started out as a foe and a leader within the Hellfire Club, known as the White Queen, but later became an X-Man. She once headed a school called the Massachusetts Academy, where she secretly trained a team of young mutants called the Hellions. Actress January Jones played Emma Frost in the 2011 movie, X-Men: First Class.
Okay, so here’s the buzz: Jake Schreier is taking the helm of the new X-Men movie, which is incredibly exciting. The script is being crafted by Lee Sung Jin – the brilliant mind behind ‘Beef’ – alongside Joanna Calo, a co-showrunner from the fantastic ‘The Bear.’ And the casting rumors? They’re starting to heat up! Word on the street is Odessa A’Zion is being considered for Rogue, and Peter Claffey might be taking on the role of Beast. No official release date yet, but sources suggest they’re hoping to start filming later this year. I’m definitely keeping my eyes on this one!
At the premiere of Beef Season 2, Sung Jin shared a personal story with Variety. He recalled fondly watching the X-Men cartoon with his father on Saturday mornings as a child.
He mentioned his favorite characters, saying he particularly enjoyed Gambit and Jubilee. While many fans focus on Cyclops and Wolverine, he always preferred the supporting characters when he was growing up.
The X-Men reboot is rumored to target a 2028 theatrical debut.
