With the official launch of Hades 2, the game has reached a new peak in concurrent players on Steam. Over the weekend, 112,947 people were playing the roguelite game simultaneously, according to SteamDB. This surpasses the previous record set during the game’s Early Access launch in May 2024, which saw just over 103,000 players. Hades 2 has also more than doubled the peak player count of the original Hades, which reached 54,240 concurrent players in May 2024, as reported by SteamDB.
Just a few days ago, on September 25, developer Supergiant released version 1.0 of Hades 2. This full launch included the game’s real ending, as well as 50 different achievements and new artwork. Currently, Hades 2 is available only on PC, Switch, and Switch 2.
Hades 2 marks the first time Supergiant Games has ever made a sequel. The studio, founded in 2009, is known for creating games like Bastion, Transistor, Pyre, and the original Hades. TopMob’s review of Hades 2 gave it a perfect 10/10 score – making it only the second game this year to receive such high praise (the other being Split Fiction).
As for what Supergiant Games is planning next, they haven’t given us any hints yet! But, just like the first Hades, I’m really hoping Hades 2 will eventually make its way to PlayStation and Xbox. If you want to dive deeper and learn more, TopMob’s Hades 2 guides hub has a ton of useful stuff.
