Crimson Desert lets you quickly travel around the world of Pywel, which is a huge time-saver when exploring. If you’re new to the game, you might not know how this fast travel system works. This guide will show you everything you need to know to get around quickly. Let’s get started!
How to Fast Travel in Crimson Desert
To fast travel in Crimson Desert:
- Enter the map screen
- Select an Abyss Nexus or Abyss Cresset location
- Press Triangle (PlayStation) or Y (Xbox) to Teleport
- Player must be standing still, away from a combat zone, and off their mount before fast traveling.
Traveling quickly around the world in Crimson Desert is simple. Just open your map, choose a previously activated Abyss Nexus or Cresset, and press the teleport button. You’ll know it worked when you see Kliff go through a portal with a short cutscene.
Before you can fast travel, you’ll need to do a few things first. You must locate and activate either an Abyss Nexus or a Cresset – these are what allow you to teleport around.
Abyss Nexuses are small, circular stone platforms that glow blue when activated. They act as convenient fast travel points, letting you quickly move between locations in both Pywel and the Abyss Realm. You can locate these Nexuses on your map by looking for areas marked with Mysterious Energies.
Abyss Cressets might take a little longer to get working. You’ll usually find them while exploring strange energy sources. To activate one, you need to solve a puzzle, which can range from simple to quite challenging, especially if you don’t have help. As a reward, you’ll unlock a fast travel point and receive an Abyss Artifact.
In Crimson Desert, you need to be completely still to use fast travel. You also can’t fast travel while fighting or riding an animal.
Players found a way to bypass the teleportation cutscene entirely: by standing on an Abyss Nexus while using fast travel. While the developers have trimmed the cutscene’s length, using the Nexus is still a much quicker way to travel.
