Superman is widely considered one of the most powerful heroes in DC Comics. He’s become the standard by which all other comic book heroes are judged, representing both hope and incredible strength. While he’s been defeated in fights before, his reputation as a powerhouse is a constant topic of debate among fans. The question of who can defeat Superman is a legendary discussion, similar to the debate about who is worthy to lift Thor’s hammer – only a select few have a chance.
Everyone always talks about who could beat Superman within the DC universe, but honestly, there are tons of heroes from other comics who could give him a real fight. Superman’s powerful, sure, but he’s not unbeatable – he has weaknesses and limits anyone can exploit. There are heroes out there with the brains, skills, and gear to take him down. A lot of them have even fought guys like Superman before, so they’d know how to approach the fight and actually have a plan that could work.
Batman Has Planned For Superman’s Defeat
Everyone knows Batman always prepares for any situation, and he has detailed plans to stop each member of the Justice League. While others have managed to defeat Superman in a fight, no one can outthink him like Batman. It’s simply his specialty – he consistently has the resources and foresight to stay ahead of both his enemies and his friends.
The most common way to defeat Superman is with weapons made from Kryptonite, and they’ve clashed like this before. However, Batman has other strategies. He might, for instance, lure Superman into a situation where red solar energy weakens him. Really, Batman has studied Superman and knows how to exploit his weaknesses.
Deadpool Will Fight Superman Unrelentessly
At first glance, Deadpool might not seem like a match for Superman. While Deadpool can heal quickly and keep fighting, his weapons likely wouldn’t be powerful enough to defeat such a strong hero. However, Deadpool has demonstrated incredible adaptability and the ability to gain new powers, even reaching a level where he’s been portrayed as capable of defeating the entire Marvel Universe.
Deadpool is incredibly resilient and resourceful. He’s proven he can withstand a lot and will keep trying new strategies to defeat Superman. He might even come prepared, having already defeated other Justice League members and taken their equipment – like Batman’s gadgets and a Green Lantern Ring. Even if Superman defeats him repeatedly, Deadpool will always come back with a fresh plan to win.
Invincible Could Eventually Match Superman’s Strength
Invincible is a great example of a character who has grown immensely over time. What makes him truly powerful isn’t just his ability to withstand damage, but his incredible resilience – his capacity to recover, learn, and become even stronger. He consistently bounces back, making him remarkably durable when it counts.
Superman rarely encounters opponents with powers comparable to his own, especially those who are equally skilled in using them. Invincible is different – he’s strong enough to go toe-to-toe with Superman and keep fighting, even after taking a beating. While he might struggle initially, Invincible has proven he can get stronger even when he seems completely defeated, something Superman doesn’t typically do.
Squirrel Girl Proves That She Cannot Be Beaten
The idea of Squirrel Girl fighting Superman seems ridiculous. She’s mostly a comedic character, and even the Avengers don’t always take her seriously. However, despite this, Squirrel Girl has actually defeated some incredibly powerful Marvel villains, like Thanos, Fin Fang Foom, Ego the Living Planet, and even, surprisingly, Galactus.
Squirrel Girl is surprisingly powerful and, according to Marvel lore, essentially invincible. No matter the opponent, she always wins. It’s hard to say how she’d defeat someone like Superman – enemies often fall due to silly accidents as much as her skills. But if Superman ever faces Squirrel Girl, his best bet is to simply fly away!
Wonder Woman Knows How To Best Clark
Wonder Woman and Superman have fought together for years, so she understands his fighting style completely. She also knows he’s vulnerable to magic, which has helped her win against him in the past. Although Superman might be faster, Wonder Woman is very strong and can draw upon her unique training and upbringing from Themyscira when the situation demands it.
Mythology is captivating, often filled with stories that don’t make logical sense. It’s easy to forget that Wonder Woman actually comes from ancient Greek mythology, and that background gives her incredible power. Because of this power, and her clever battle tactics, she could defeat Superman again. She’s also a skilled strategist and could likely outsmart him during a fight, giving her a significant advantage.
Morphius Is A God Even To Superman
Morphius, also known as Dream, is an incredibly powerful god. He’s battled threats far beyond anything Superman has ever faced. While it might seem unfair to keep challenging Superman with such powerful opponents, Dream is unique because he’s actually been defeated by ordinary humans before, meaning he isn’t invincible.
Up until now, battles have focused on heroes trying to reach Superman’s power level. But to defeat Morpheus, Superman needs to change his approach and unleash his full strength. The real challenge is that Dream is more likely to draw Superman into the dream world, where he could defeat him before Superman even realizes what’s happening.
Butcher Has Spent His Life Fighting Superheroes
Some argue that Butcher isn’t a traditional hero, but more of an anti-hero who might even become the villain. However, he initially sets out with good intentions, wanting to improve the world. Whether he has powers or not, Butcher has dedicated his life to eliminating people with superpowers. He’s proven incredibly resilient, surviving attacks from Homelander and likely capable of challenging even someone as powerful as Superman.
This won’t be a simple battle. Butcher is willing to do whatever it takes to win, employing tactics Superman would never consider. Driven by his intense hatred of super-powered individuals, he’ll push boundaries and sink to depths others won’t. Whether he has powers himself or not, he’s a dangerous opponent – skilled from years of training, a master of preparation, and possessing a ruthless streak that even many villains lack.
Hellboy Knows How To Take Down Deities
Hellboy has encountered challenges far beyond those Superman has faced. He’s literally been to hell and back, battling demons and powerful, god-like beings, and survived. He possesses deep knowledge of the occult—something Superman wouldn’t understand—and has the strength and resilience to fight incredibly powerful opponents.
A fight between Hellboy and Superman would happen in two stages. Superman would initially dominate, fighting on his own terms. However, the battle would then shift to Hellboy’s territory, where Superman’s lack of understanding of magic and the mystical would be his downfall. Ultimately, Hellboy’s Right Hand of Doom would strike, defeating Superman.
Scarlet Witch’s Chaos Magic Would Prove Unbeatable
The Scarlet Witch is incredibly powerful. She’s destroyed entire mutant populations, altered reality by creating a new timeline, and defeated some of the Marvel Universe’s strongest magic users. The idea that Superman could defeat Wanda Maximoff is ridiculous. Once she loses control, there’s no reasoning with her, and no one—living or dead—could stop her.
Superman is famously vulnerable to magic, lacking any defense against it. Scarlet Witch, however, is incredibly powerful with spells and rituals, able to manipulate situations to her advantage. With the right spell, she could easily defeat Superman, sending him retreating with a clear loss.
In The Right Circumstances, Judge Dredd Could Execute His Plan
On the surface, Judge Dredd seems outmatched by Superman. He lacks Superman’s incredible powers and hasn’t faced threats of that magnitude before, making it appear like an unfair fight. But Judge Dredd compensates with unwavering determination and a brilliant strategic mind, which he’ll use to his full potential.
Judge Dredd is well-equipped and resourceful, always finding ways to prepare for any opponent, even Superman. Beyond Kryptonite, he’d likely find or create other weapons to overcome the challenge. His relentless determination makes him a formidable force – it would be unwise to underestimate him.
