Devsisters has just revealed Cookie Run: New World, a large-scale, open-world action RPG and their most ambitious game yet in the popular Cookie Run series.
During the DevNow 2026 presentation on March 20th, the developers unveiled a cinematic trailer and a first look at gameplay. The game, formerly called Project N, is set to release worldwide in 2029, marking the 20th anniversary of the Cookie Run franchise.
Since it first launched in 2009, Cookie Run has become a hugely popular mobile game franchise. What started as a basic running game has expanded into a diverse series, attracting over 300 million players globally and generating more than 1.5 trillion won in revenue.
Cookie Run: New World pushes series into full 3D open world
Cookie Run: New World is a big change for the series. Instead of the usual side-scrolling levels, it now features a vast, 3D world you can freely explore, created with the Unreal Engine.
Unlike games like Cookie Run: Kingdom that combined role-playing with building a city, the new game, New World, is a complete action RPG set on a vast, open continent. Instead of following set routes, players will freely explore the cookie world after escaping the witch’s oven.
The game is being built for a wide range of devices, including PCs, consoles, and mobile phones. Players on all these platforms will also be able to play together.
Devsisters is creating a new game that will combine almost twenty years of Cookie Run history into one unified story. The game will center around a new danger – a “mysterious darkness” – and feature many familiar characters, like the main hero, GingerBrave.

A long-term project for the franchise’s future
I’m already getting so hyped for Cookie Run: New World! Even though it’s not out until 2029, everyone’s talking about how it’s going to be a really big deal for the whole Cookie Run franchise – like a game-changer, honestly.
As a long-time fan, I’m really excited they’ve switched to Unreal Engine! It means we’re going to get way better graphics, more realistic physics, and huge, detailed environments. It feels like they’re finally aiming to go head-to-head with the big RPGs on consoles and PCs, which is awesome – it’s a big step away from being just a mobile game.
This builds on Devsisters’ ongoing growth of the Cookie Run franchise, which started with games like Cookie Run: OvenBreak and Cookie Run: Kingdom, and now includes newer titles like CookieRun: Tower of Adventures and OvenSmash.
New World seems like the biggest leap forward for this game series so far. It combines all the characters and stories from previous games into one large, open world for players to explore.
