A livestreamer in China tragically died while broadcasting live, collapsing on camera in front of a large online audience.
Wang Yefei, a 39-year-old online influencer who goes by “Sister Wang Zha,” was livestreaming a typical clothing sale when something unexpected happened.
Wang started experiencing intense pain about 30 minutes into her livestream on March 9th. She visibly held her head and neck and quickly asked someone to call for an ambulance.
Moments later, she warned she was about to faint and collapsed on camera.
Chinese streamer’s final broadcast shocks fans
What began as a normal broadcast quickly escalated into a medical emergency.
It was honestly shocking to watch Wang’s health get so much worse, and it all happened so quickly – the whole thing played out in just over ten minutes. It was really intense seeing it happen live.
She was rushed to hospital shortly after collapsing but was later pronounced dead.

Doctors determined the person died from a brainstem hemorrhage, a serious and often fatal type of stroke.
Wang gained a large online following of about 130,000 people by livestreaming, and she often used these broadcasts to showcase and sell women’s clothes.
People online are deeply shocked and saddened by her unexpected death, especially since it happened while she was livestreaming.
She was a dedicated worker who put in long hours to provide for her family and always went the extra mile for her audience.

A friend remembered that she was remarkably resilient. Even when she wasn’t feeling well – with back pain or a headache – she never let it show on air and always insisted she was okay.
She was 39 years old and had been feeling sick for weeks before she passed away. She started taking pain medication to try and relieve her constant headaches.
Yefei’s death during a livestream isn’t an isolated event. Earlier in 2026, another streamer in Spain died on camera while participating in a dangerous online challenge that involved drugs and alcohol.
A streamer in Japan was attacked with a knife last year while broadcasting live to over 6,000 viewers in Tokyo.
