Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 & 3 Update Is Good & Bad News for Defenders Fans

After nearly ten years, the heroes known as the Defenders might be teaming up again in a future season of Marvel’s Daredevil: Born Again.

In 2017, Netflix released The Defenders, a team-up featuring the leads from Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist as they battled the organization known as The Hand. This was the one and only time these four heroes joined forces in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Netflix later canceled all of its Marvel shows two years after the miniseries’ release.

Starting in 2021, Marvel Studios began bringing back characters originally featured in the Netflix shows like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Charlie Cox first reprised his role as Matt Murdock in the film Spider-Man: No Way Home, and Vincent D’Onofrio soon followed as Kingpin in the Hawkeye series. Now, both actors are starring in a new Disney+ show called Daredevil: Born Again, with the second season set to launch on March 24th.

The second season of Born Again will bring Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox, back together with Krysten Ritter’s Jessica Jones, who hasn’t appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since her Netflix show ended in 2018. Mike Colter is also likely to make a brief appearance as Luke Cage, and there’s talk he might have a bigger part in Season 3, but Marvel hasn’t confirmed that yet.

Will the Defenders reassemble in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 or 3?

Since three of the original Defenders are likely to be in Season 2 of ‘Born Again,’ fans are wondering if Marvel is planning to bring the team back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. This speculation increased when Finn Jones, who played Iron Fist, hinted on social media that he’s been training in New York, suggesting a possible return to his role.

A reliable source, Cryptic HD QUALITY, reports that Jones won’t appear in the second season, but will return at some point. They also hinted that we’ll see a familiar face—likely Colter reprising his role as Luke Cage—before the show ends.

The Beyond Reporter, a reliable source of information, has corroborated a previous report stating that Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as the Punisher in Season 3 of Born Again. They also confirmed that Élodie Yung will return as Elektra Natchios, having last appeared in the Defenders series.

I’m so excited! I just found out that Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again will be streaming on Disney+ starting March 4, 2026. And even better, they’re already planning Season 3, which should be out around March 2027! I can’t wait!
