Resident Evil Requiem Leon actor responds to thirstiest comments from fans

Nick Apostolides, who voices Leon Kennedy in the game Resident Evil Requiem, has responded to enthusiastic and sometimes overly suggestive comments about his character online. He described the attention as both insulting and encouraging.

Resident Evil Requiem is shaping up to be a massive hit for 2026, becoming the fastest-selling game in the Resident Evil franchise and receiving widespread critical acclaim.

The game’s popularity comes down to a lot of things – like the way it blends tense, careful gameplay with exciting action, and its compelling story. However, a major reason for its success is arguably its main character, Leon S. Kennedy.

Before the game Requiem was released, Leon Kennedy generated a lot of excitement, with many fans anticipating his return and charmed by his mature, appealing look. Director Koshi Nakanishi revealed that the female developers at Capcom were key in shaping Leon’s attractive design.

Leon Kennedy actor is “jealous” of his own character

So, how does the actor behind the character feel about all the excitement? Nick Apostolides, who has been the voice and movement for the character since 2019, appears to be enjoying the enthusiastic reaction, though he admits to being a bit envious of the character’s popularity in a video from PartyChat.

He jokingly admired a muscular character model, saying he was envious of its physique. He admitted it was a little discouraging to see an avatar so much more built than himself, but he found it inspiring and a good reason to work out.

He explained he was working on his arm muscles at the gym, motivated by a recent, explicit message he received from a fan.

After seeing tweets praising Kennedy and even comparing him to Lara Croft, Apostolides highlighted what he considered Leon’s best feature: his hair. He confidently stated that no other male gaming character has better hair, challenging anyone to name one who does.

Although some of the enthusiastic reactions surprised him, Apostolides was thrilled with the positive response to Leon, and happily exclaimed, “I love the internet!”

I’m so glad to see how much the actor is embracing all the love for his character – it’s awesome! But, uh, anyone hoping for a romance with Leon? Forget about it. The director, Koshi Nakanishi, let it slip that he’s actually married, though he’s keeping his spouse a secret. Total bummer, but cool that he’s happy!
