Gellar expressed concern about potential leaks, saying she hoped the project remained under wraps. She explained that the work wasn’t completed, and it wasn’t a finished season that was simply shelved. She drew a comparison to the movie ‘Batgirl,’ which was made but never released, emphasizing that this project was still in progress.

Gellar explained that a pilot episode is meant to introduce characters and make necessary improvements. Unfortunately, the planned Buffy reboot didn’t have that chance because Hulu canceled it before it could be fully developed.
