Cat saved after vets discover horrifying blockage that nearly killed her

An animal rescue group in Florida saved a cat from euthanasia by providing treatment for a dangerous blockage. They were surprised to discover what had caused the problem.

Midnite, a six-year-old dog, was facing euthanasia due to a serious intestinal blockage that needed immediate surgery. Luckily, an animal rescue in Florida stepped in and saved her life.

During surgery, veterinarians were shocked to find the cause of the blockage: a massive 26 hair ties stuck in Midnite’s digestive system. The rescue organization shared on Instagram that Midnite was in critical condition when they first received the emergency call.

Cat saved from hair tie diet

We found out the cause of the blockage right after the surgery: twenty-six hair ties. It sounds unbelievable, but that’s exactly what it was – twenty-six of them!

I was really struck by something the animal shelter shared recently. They pointed out how dangerous everyday things around the house can be for pets! Apparently, little things like hair ties, rubber bands, and even string can cause serious, even fatal, problems if a pet swallows them. It’s a good reminder to keep those things put away!

This probably wasn’t on purpose, but it’s a good reminder that even small things around the home can be really harmful to pets.

I was so worried about Midnite, but I just heard the surgery went well! She’s actually going to be okay and is expected to make a complete recovery, which is a huge relief!

She’s doing much better today and is eating everything on her plate! In fact, she’s incredibly eager to eat, diving right into her bowl as soon as it’s set down. We’re so happy she’s getting a second chance at life – not all animals are so lucky.

Midnite’s heartwarming recovery isn’t the only animal story capturing hearts online – Punch, the popular baby monkey, has finally made a friend!
