I’ve been a huge fan of the Incredibles family for over 20 years, and like so many others, I absolutely love watching their adventures! The first movie was a massive hit back in 2004, bringing in over $630 million and getting amazing reviews. But Incredibles 2 really blew everyone away in 2018, making over $1.2 billion! It’s no surprise they’re now working on Incredibles 3. Honestly, every time I watch Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl use their powers while juggling the chaos of raising three kids – a teen, a younger one, and a baby – it just makes me smile, laugh, and cheer right along with them!
Details about the plot of Incredibles 3 are still secret, but actress Holly Hunter mentioned she anticipated starting voice recording in March 2026. This is just one of several exciting new Pixar films planned for the coming years, starting with Toy Story 5 this year, followed by another Coco movie and a third Monsters, Inc. film. Good news for fans: the Parr family finally has a confirmed release date for their long-awaited return to cinemas worldwide.
Disney has announced that Incredibles 3 will hit theaters on June 16, 2028, according to Variety. That’s ten years after Incredibles 2 came out in 2018, and 24 years after the first Incredibles movie in 2004. Peter Sohn, who directed Elemental in 2023, will direct. This will be the first Incredibles film not directed by Brad Bird, though he’s writing the script and will likely return as Edna Mode, the famous costume designer.

Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures
Currently, Craig T. Nelson and Holly Hunter are the only confirmed cast members, and they will once again play Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl. Many fans are hoping Sarah Vowell will return as their daughter Violet, having voiced the character in the previous two films. However, it’s unclear who will voice their son, Dash, as the role was played by Spencer Fox in the first movie and Huck Milner in the second.
The movie’s place within the existing timeline isn’t clear. The first two Incredibles films followed each other closely, with Incredibles 2 starting right after the end of the first, as the Underminer began his attack. Many fans currently believe Incredibles 3 might also start immediately after the previous film’s ending.
If the story continues right after the first movie, viewers might see the Parr family unexpectedly jumping into action when a police chase happens near the movie theater – a place they were headed to with Violet’s date, Tony Rydinger. Alternatively, the film could jump ahead in time, showing Violet, Dash, and Jack-Jack as older children who are more comfortable with their superpowers. Either way, this heroic family is set to be a major part of one of the year’s most exciting movies when they return.
