I just checked out the new gameplay footage for Exodus, and it looks awesome! Wizards of the Coast and Archetype Entertainment showed off both how the combat works and how you explore the world in this upcoming sci-fi RPG. It’s definitely got me hyped!
Archetype Entertainment plans to share more details about gameplay, RPG features, and characters throughout 2026, leading up to the game’s expected early access release in 2027. They’ve published a new blog post detailing the scenes featured in today’s video.
Hey everyone, I just checked out the new gameplay video – you can find it below! Archetype Entertainment also put out a description to go with it. If you didn’t catch it during The Game Awards 2025, they revealed a trailer introducing the main character, Jun Aslan, and the game itself.
Exodus is set to release in Early 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).

It’s what you’ve been asking for >> New Exodus gameplay.
This is still a work in progress – the user interface and everything! This is just the first of many updates as we develop the game for summer. If you haven’t added Exodus to your wishlist yet, you can do so here.
Welcome! Humanity has been living in the Centauri Cluster for forty thousand years now – so long that Earth is effectively unreachable, even if we wanted to return. Over that time, we’ve built cities on top of old ruins, fought forgotten wars leaving behind endless wreckage, and even forced some worlds to become habitable. This is our home now.
You’re Jun Aslan, a former salvager now traveling the stars. It’s a decent life, until you unexpectedly become humanity’s only hope against a powerful alien threat called the Celestials. Get ready for a dangerous journey filled with searching for advanced technology, all in a desperate attempt to save humankind from being wiped out. It’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it.
This includes locations like the orbital shrines of Khonsu and the space towers of Lyonesse on Lidon. Here’s a look at what it’s like to play Exodus.
What You’re Seeing: Footage Breakdown
Clip #1
The action begins immediately with Jun, Tom, and Elise facing a tough battle just outside Lyonesse. Success depends heavily on where you stand and how well you work with your teammates – it’s a fight where teamwork is the key to staying alive. When Elise launches her attack, you really feel the impact. The beginning is challenging, but you manage to hold your ground because you’re fighting alongside a strong team.
Clip #2
Next, we’re shown a scene atop a space tower in Lyonesse. This section focuses on the quieter moments of a mission, offering a break from the action. Moving around in Exodus has a unique pace – you can rush, but the game encourages you to slow down and appreciate the vastness of the world.
Once you master the railclaw, challenging terrain will feel like just another part of your journey. It’s an essential tool for any Traveler, helping you navigate difficult landscapes and giving you a strategic advantage in dangerous situations.
Clip #3
As you venture deeper, you come across an ancient shrine on Khonsu. The impressive buildings around you clearly show Celestial influence. The vast space slows you down as you take in the grandeur. What you find inside is up to you…
Signal Received
In our recent community update, we asked what you’d like to see from Exodus in 2026. The overwhelming response was: gameplay! People want to see extended, uninterrupted footage of what it’s like to actually play the game – including combat, choices, and full mission walkthroughs. Consider it done!
You also asked about:
- RPG systems: skills, builds, gear, progression
- Your relationships: companions, conversations, and romance
- Your homeworld, Lidon, and life between story missions
- How choices unfold in a universe shaped by Time Dilation
We won’t cover all of this at once, but it’s on our minds as we move toward launch in Early 2027.
The Road To Summer: More Gameplay Coming
We want to give you a continuous look at what it feels like to step into Jun’s boots:
- Now through early summer: Short gameplay clips throughout our channels showing combat encounters, traversal, interactions, and environments.
- This summer: A longer gameplay showcase. Continuous footage with moment-to-moment gameplay, including combat, conversations, in-mission choices, and more.
- After that: Focused deep dive spotlights on companions and romance, the RPG hub of Persepolis, choices and consequences, roleplaying mechanics, and Time Dilation. These roll out in the months before launch.
Just a heads-up: the best way to experience certain parts of the game is to play it yourself! We’ve kept the main story surprises intact, so you’ll discover them naturally as you play.
Worldbuilding and Lore
Creating a rich and detailed world has always been central to the development of Exodus. As we prepare to show more gameplay this summer, we’ll be regularly sharing background information and world-building details to give you a fuller understanding of the game. This will include both brand new content and a fresh look at stories and features some players may have missed previously.
We want both our existing community members and newcomers to find new and exciting things to explore in the Cluster with these featured highlights.
