So, I just heard that Cody Rhodes, the current WWE Champion, is going to be playing Guile in the new Street Fighter movie! Paramount finally dropped a good look at his character, and honestly, it’s pretty awesome. I’m really excited to see him in action!
A picture is circulating online showing actor Rhodes as the character Guile from Street Fighter playing the game on a PlayStation 5. The game’s director, Nakayama-san, is also in the photo and seems pleased with how Rhodes looks as Guile. Rhodes shared the picture on X (formerly Twitter), jokingly mentioning that Nakayama-san defeated him soundly in the game.

As a fan, it was tough to see Cody Rhodes lose, especially considering how dominant he usually is in WWE. It really felt like a humbling moment for him. Since he came back in 2022, he’s only been pinned by the very best – guys like Roman Reigns, who you might even know from the new Street Fighter movie! It just shows how rare a loss is for him.
More importantly, we finally get a good look at John Rhodes in character. He’s completely transformed by the costume, sporting Guile’s famous hairstyle.
Who is WWE Champion Cody Rhodes playing in the Street Fighter movie?
David Rhodes has been cast as Guile in the upcoming Street Fighter movie. Guile is instantly recognizable for his distinctive flat-top haircut and is a U.S. Air Force pilot driven by a desire to avenge the death of a fellow serviceman.
Cody Rhodes isn’t the only WWE wrestler appearing in the film. His past opponent, Roman Reigns, will be playing the character Akuma. It’s currently unclear if Rhodes and Reigns will share any scenes together, but fans of WWE would be thrilled to see them interact.
Noah Centineo stars as Ken Masters in the film. He’s joined by a talented cast including Andrew Koji, Callina Llang, David Dastmalchian, Andrew Schulz, Eric André, 50 Cent, and Jason Momoa.
This isn’t the first time Rhodes has been in a movie. He recently played a bartender in the new Naked Gun film starring Liam Neeson, which was his biggest Hollywood role yet. He’s also appeared in TV shows like Arrow.
