Following its release on Android, Warframe is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2. Players who log in between March 25th and April 15th will receive a special in-game pack – the Ambimanus Pack – containing the Vericres and Akomeogi Warfans, a Slicing Feathers Stance Mod, cosmetic items, and boosters to help with progression. The Switch 2 version of Warframe offers several improvements, including support for mouse mode with the Joy-Con 2 controller, 1080p resolution at 60 frames per second in both docked and handheld modes, faster loading times, enhanced textures, and better graphics. The upcoming update, The Shadowgrapher Update, will also introduce the 64th playable Warframe, Follie, along with other new content.
Warframe is currently playable on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android, and PC. It will also be released on the new Nintendo Switch 2 on March 25th.
Here’s the trailer for Warframe’s new ‘The Shadowgrapher’ Update, along with more information from Digital Extremes:
Digital Extremes revealed some exciting news during today’s livestream: Warframe will launch on the new Nintendo Switch 2 (as well as all other platforms) alongside its latest major update, The Shadowgrapher, on Wednesday, March 25th, and it will be free to play. To mark the game’s 13th anniversary next month, the developers unveiled their 64th Warframe, Follie, showcasing her unique abilities and a brand-new co-op game mode called Follie’s Hunt, which takes inspiration from online survival horror games. They also teased new cosmetic options for Mods, improvements to Clan features, upcoming in-game events, and announced that tickets for TennoCon 2026 are now on sale.
Community Director Megan Everett shared that the recent ‘Old Peace’ update was our most successful release yet, and we’ve loved seeing the amazing experiences players have shared. We’ve taken all your feedback to heart, and the new ‘Shadowgrapher’ update includes exciting content alongside important improvements to make Warframe even better. Clans will find a wealth of new features, one of our earlier Quests has been visually updated, and we’re thrilled to announce Warframe will soon be available on the Nintendo Switch 2! Thank you for your continued support – we have a fantastic year planned.
Highlights from the February Devstream include:
Warframe is coming to the next generation Nintendo Switch 2 on March 25th, bringing its signature fast-paced, cooperative action to a new platform!
Use the right Joy-Con like a mouse to easily move through menus or aim accurately with Warframe’s many different weapons.
Enjoy a smoother Warframe experience on your console with fast loading, better graphics, and a stable 60 frames per second at 1080p resolution, whether you’re playing handheld or docked.
Play Warframe on your Nintendo Switch 2 between March 25th and April 15th to get the special Ambimanus Pack! It includes the Vericres Warfan, an Akomeogi Warfan skin, a Slicing Feathers Stance Mod, plus other cosmetic items and boosters to help you level up and earn Credits.
I’m so hyped for Follie’s Hunt! It’s a new game mode where we’ll be going up against a really creepy, slowed-down version of the newest Warframe. Sounds intense!
Team up with three friends in Warframe to survive against Follie, a terrifying enemy, in a unique 4v1 match. Four players work together while being hunted by Follie, who adapts to their moves and tries to capture them.
Restore the incomplete artwork found throughout the Vesper Relay ruins. Find pools of colored ink, cover yourself in the ink, and then use it to finish the scattered paintings.
Each time you play the Hunt, it changes! Every run is different because the game randomly alters mission dangers and how enemies behave, keeping the experience fresh.
Stay alert and calm as Follie, the enemy, becomes more dangerous with each completed canvas, because their abilities will recharge faster and they’ll attack more often.
Channel the might of the brush to spread darkness itself as the 64th Warframe, Follie:
Briefly vanish into a cloud of ink, then reappear at a chosen spot. This covers you in ink and applies a new debuff called Inkblot to enemies nearby.
Okay, so in this game, I can basically create a whole sketchbook full of custom drawings before a mission. Then, when I’m actually in the action, I can bring one of those drawings to life and use it to help me out – it’s a really cool tactical option!
As a huge fan, I’m so excited about this ability! Basically, I can create an ink copy of myself – a perfect doppelganger! – that takes all the hits for me. Even better, it covers nearby enemies in ink, slowing them down and making them vulnerable. It’s a fantastic way to protect myself and control the battlefield!
Create a playful distraction by launching ink-filled balloons at nearby enemies. These balloons lift opponents into the air, applying the Inkblot effect and making them easy targets.
Keep discovering the many ways to customize your Warframe! We’ve added new options like Atragraphs and the latest TennoGen cosmetics, giving you even more ways to personalize your experience.
Earn unique cosmetic items called Atragraphs for your Mods! These are like animated foil trading cards, featuring alternate artwork. The Shadowgrapher will initially offer 10 different Atragraphs, with plans to add more in future updates.
Discover fresh looks for your Warframe with the newest TennoGen creations! Digital Extremes’ community design program has just released five new cosmetic items, including Warframe skins, Signa headpieces, and a weapon skin.
Enhance the visual connection between Gauss and Grendel with their new, detailed cosmetic skins and expressive emotes. These additions will make the pair feel even more connected and dynamic.
Participate in our current limited-time community event and explore the new features we’ve added for Clans! It’s a great way to connect with a friendly gaming community.
Join forces with other players in Operation: Atramentum, a special event running from April 2nd to April 23rd. You’ll have a chance to win new cosmetic items and unlock rewards from previous events!
Okay, so the game is really focusing on clans now, which is awesome! They’re adding a bunch of ways to connect with your clanmates. We’ll have special markers on the map to see where everyone is, and we’ll get bonus rewards after finishing missions together. Plus, they’re adding clan-only matchmaking so we can team up easily, weekly challenges just for clans, and even a way to merge clans if we want to grow. Oh, and the best part? We’ll get cool stuff like a unique emote and a clan symbol to show off our team pride!
