World of Horror Update 1.2 revealed announced, World of Horror The Board Game available to pre-order

Ysbryd Games and Panstasz have released a new update for World of Horror (version 1.2) that adds previously unused and removed content, making the game about 20% larger.

As a huge fan, I’m so excited about the upcoming update! It’s packed with content – we’re getting three new characters to play as, two more Old Gods to face, and a ton of new allies to help us out. They’re also adding new injuries, curses, and items, plus a whopping 60 new events! Oh, and the first official scenario is coming too, which is awesome. For those of us who love to customize, they’ve really improved the modding support. And great news – pre-orders for the World of Horror: The Board Game are finally open!

World of Horror is now released on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC, available through Steam, GOG, and itch.io. You can find our review of the game here.

You can find details for the update, the board game, and new screenshots via Ysbryd Games below:

People are saying the vibrations you feel are from the subway line restarting after being closed since 1972. But you have a feeling the source of these unsettling sounds is coming from far below the surface…

We didn’t pick version 1.2 by chance. This release isn’t just about adding content that was previously cut or unfinished – we also aimed to make the game about 20% larger. That means you can expect 20% more events, secrets, characters, deities, and everything else the game has to offer.

An ancient presence, far older than the subway and even the town of Shioikawa, is awakening deep within the mountains.

Two new OLD GODS have joined the roster of the eldritch horror planning on destroying our world.

Despite hearing stories about people disappearing, you still chose to ride the subway. This quicker commute has given you more time to get organized and make plans.

We’ve redesigned the game’s interface to be cleaner and easier to use, giving players more control with fewer clicks.

Despite the weird smell and uncomfortable chairs, you’ve seen old friends and new faces.

I’m really excited about the latest update! They’ve added ten new characters you can team up with – that’s a 34% increase, which is awesome. Plus, the way characters chat with each other now feels way more natural. It’s not just scripted stuff anymore; conversations happen randomly while you’re exploring, and it really makes the world feel more alive.

Shioikawa isn’t just celebrating the return of its metro line – new hiking trails in the nearby mountains are also available for outdoor enthusiasts.

60 new events (+32%) have been added to the game, including a brand new location: MOUNTAINS.

It’s important to be prepared for the mountains as it is easy to get injured or lost…

The game now features a significant update with around 20 new injuries, mutations, and curses, plus 19 new enemies and 30 new items – a roughly 19-23% increase in each category.

The weather in Shiokawa has become incredibly erratic, and strangely enough, the local weather forecasters are disappearing. It seems they’re simply resigning and leaving town – that’s the only explanation anyone can come up with.

Okay, so the game now has weather, and it actually matters! It’s not just cosmetic; you can check the forecast and try to time your runs. If it’s looking good, that’s when I’ll try the really tough mysteries – it’s all about planning ahead now, which is pretty cool.

Luckily, you’re not alone in the fight to save your town… and the world.

The game now features three new playable characters, one of whom is Kiriko the Tarotist. Her tarot readings don’t predict the future, but instead reveal the necessary course of action.

The game now features three new challenges—a 42% increase—including “YEARBOOK,” where you investigate strange happenings in your town by collecting clues.

We’ve added the first scenario to the game! It centers around three students who are lost in the woods, and your choices will lead to different endings. You’ll encounter unique events, make allies, and face enemies. With enough exploration, you might even discover how to repair the FOREST TAPES and locate a TELESCOPE.

The updated modding system will let creators design intricate mysteries with custom layouts and connected events, and it will still work with content made for the original version of the game.

We’ve added 22 new achievements and a redesigned achievement tracker to help you plan your next game.

…and other features await, like cloud saving, Steam achievements, and more.

We’ve started early testing of version 1.2 for PC, and we’re also working on translating the game into other languages and getting it ready for consoles. Our goal is to have the game experience be consistent across all platforms.

WORLD OF HORROR version 1.2 is coming to PC and consoles soon, and will be available in all currently supported languages. We’ll share more information about the release date as it gets closer.

See you soon back in SHIOKAWA.
