MrBeast has ambitions to be the next Disney but company is reportedly hemorrhaging money

Jimmy Donaldson, known as MrBeast on YouTube, is aiming for his company, Beast Industries, to become a major entertainment force like Disney. However, reports suggest the company is currently losing a significant amount of money.

MrBeast, known for his incredibly popular YouTube channel and large-scale challenges, is now branching out into the food industry with his brands Feastables and Lunchly.

He created Beast Games for Amazon Prime Video, building on the popularity of his viral Squid Game-inspired videos on YouTube. The show has been quickly renewed for another season, and he’s also planning to start his own mobile phone company.

Despite this, he and his team at Beast Industries have much bigger ambitions. They’re aiming to become the next Disney, even if that means Jimmy will be less active on YouTube.

Beast Industries is aiming to be like Disney

Beast Industries CEO Jeff Housenbold told Bloomberg that MrBeast (Donaldson) remains central to the company’s plans, but his schedule is consistently packed with commitments.

The potential goes far beyond just creating videos for YouTube. While Jimmy is the foundation of everything, he can’t keep up with the demands of growth. He’s already been filming almost every day of the month – 26, 27, or even 28 days – and that’s not sustainable.

Housenbold also mentioned that the Beast team aims to create a franchise similar to Disney. They’ve already designed several animated characters and plan to develop them into a series, comics, and merchandise like toys.

The company has been losing a significant amount of money in recent years, including over $110 million in 2024. Despite these losses, Bloomberg reports that an investment firm with ties to the United Arab Emirates recently valued the company at over $5 billion.

MrBeast confidently stated he’s the best at creating YouTube content, and he’s recently been updating his approach to videos.

We discovered that simply spending more money doesn’t guarantee more views. If we gave a million dollars to a random person and filmed it, many viewers – particularly from outside the US – would likely assume it wasn’t genuine.

Housenbould announced the company expects to become profitable by 2026, with projections indicating they’ll break even in 2025. They are also receiving new investment.

Despite their financial success, they’ve established a special fund, nicknamed the “Jimmy fund,” to cover unforeseen costs – such as his generous $400,000 contribution to Team Water.
