DWTS’ Danielle Fishel Reveals Good Friend Sabrina Carpenter Cleared A Song For Her To Use, And I Have Some Guesses

Season 34 of *Dancing With the Stars* kicked off last week as part of the 2025 TV lineup, introducing the new couples competing for the Mirrorball Trophy. This year’s contestants include Danielle Fishel, known for her role in *Boy Meets World*, who finally agreed to participate after previously declining for years, following a breast cancer diagnosis. She’s shared that her friend Sabrina Carpenter has allowed her to use one of her songs for her performances, and there’s speculation about which song it might be.

Before Sabrina Carpenter was topping the charts and winning Grammys, she actually started out on Disney Channel! I always loved seeing her on *Girl Meets World*, which was a continuation of the classic *Boy Meets World*. It was so cool to see her and Ben Savage – who played Cory in both shows – reprise their roles together. Even though *Girl Meets World* ended years ago, it’s sweet to see Sabrina and Danielle Fishel, who played Topanga, are still close friends. So when I heard Danielle tell Decider that she and her partner Pasha were going to dance to a Sabrina Carpenter song on *Dancing with the Stars*, it totally made sense!

I really wanted to feature a song by Sabrina Carpenter from the moment I joined the show. I kept asking when we could get one, and thankfully, she helped us get the rights to use it, which was great of her.

With Carpenter having so many songs to choose from, it’s tough to guess which one Fishel will dance to on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ The show has announced the themes for upcoming weeks, and after ‘One-Hit Wonders’ night, next week will be dedicated to TikTok hits. Carpenter’s music has become popular on TikTok, especially her song ‘Espresso,’ which went viral quickly. ‘Espresso’ or even ‘Manchild,’ another TikTok favorite, would both be great choices for Fishel and Pashkov’s dance.

It seems like TikTok Night is the most likely time for Fishel to perform a song by Sabrina Carpenter, but knowing her, she probably has other songs planned for different weeks, like Dedication Night or even the show’s 20th anniversary special. Whatever she dances to, I’m really looking forward to it, and I’m happy Carpenter helped make it happen.

It’s not surprising Danielle Fishel asked to dance to a Sabrina Carpenter song on ‘Dancing with the Stars.’ She’s been a dedicated supporter of her former colleague, even traveling to Mexico to see Carpenter open for Taylor Swift and attending her ‘Saturday Night Live’ performance. With Carpenter returning to ‘SNL’ next month, I’m hoping Fishel will be there in the audience or, at the very least, will be watching from home.

Fishel and Pashkov immediately stood out with their first dance, and I’m eager to see what they do next-especially with a song by The Carpenters!
