Spider-Man 4 Will See Into the Spider-Verse Star Reprise Villain Role

A Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse star has been cast in Spider-Man 4.

Spider-Man 4, sometimes called Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is now being made by Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures. Destin Daniel Cretton, who directed Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, is directing the film, and Tom Holland will return as Peter Parker/Spider-Man. It’s scheduled to come out in July 2026.

Who is playing Tombstone in Spider-Man 4?

Marvin Jones III has been officially cast in the role of Tombstone in Spider-Man 4, per Deadline.

Krondon, who also goes by Jones, famously provided the voice for Tombstone in the 2018 animated film *Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse*. According to Deadline, the character will appear in the upcoming *Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse* as well. It’s currently unclear if Jones’ recent casting in *Spider-Man 4* is just a coincidence, or if it hints at a possible connection between the different Spider-Verse projects.

In addition to his other work, Jones portrayed Tobias Whale in The CW’s *Black Lightning* and appeared as Louis-036 in Season 2 of *Halo*. He can also be seen in the recent film *Shadow Force*, directed by Joe Carnahan and starring Kerry Washington and Omar Sy.

It’s currently unknown how important a character Tombstone will be in the next Spider-Man movie. The film will star Zendaya as MJ, Jacob Batalon as Ned, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, and Mark Ruffalo as Hulk. Michael Mando will return as Scorpion, a character he last played in the 2017 film *Spider-Man: Homecoming*. Rounding out the cast are Liza Colón-Zayas, Sadie Sink, and Trammel Tillman, all in currently mysterious roles.

Marvel’s next Spider-Man movie, produced by Amy Pascal and Kevin Feige, is set to release in U.S. theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of the sixth phase of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The highly anticipated ‘Avengers: Doomsday’ will follow on December 18, 2026.
