Jing Yuan

While he’s a bit stronger than Jing Yuan during the current event, he doesn’t measure up to other top-tier damage dealers.

Jingliu
Still Irrelevant Even After The Buff
Jingliu in Honkai: Star Rail hasn’t lived up to expectations, even after receiving buffs. She’s still a fairly weak damage dealer who needs a lot of help from other characters to perform well. It’s generally best to skip using her for now.

Acheron

Aventurine
Still Viable As A Sustain
Aventurine is a great option when you get your first free 5-Star character in Honkai: Star Rail. Although he doesn’t boost damage or provide support quite like the newest characters, he provides a very strong shield that can help your team survive even the most challenging battles. Plus, Aventurine frequently triggers Follow-up attacks, making him a valuable addition to teams built around that mechanic in Honkai: Star Rail.

Kafka
S-Tier But With Conditions
Recent updates to the characters Kafka and Black Swan have significantly boosted performance in Honkai: Star Rail battles. Adding Hysilens to teams alongside Kafka has made those teams even stronger. Without Black Swan and Hysilens supporting her, Kafka struggles and isn’t very effective in combat.
Getting Kafka from the Commencement Reception event means you’ll also need to acquire Black Swan and Hysilens, which can be quite costly. This team is expensive to build and might not remain effective as the game changes. Therefore, only choose Kafka if you already have or plan to get Black Swan and Hysilens in Honkai: Star Rail.

Sparkle
Must-Have With Her Buff
Sparkle is a fantastic choice from the free 5-Star selector, especially with her recent improvements that have made her even stronger.
