Ever since his memorable slow-motion scene in X-Men: Days of Future Past, fans – including me – have been hoping to see Evan Peters reprise his role as Quicksilver in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. WandaVision offered a brief glimpse, but many still want to see him return in a more substantial way. Now, Peters is addressing those requests from fans.
While promoting the new film *Tron: Ares*, Jared Leto recently spoke with ComicBook about persistent fan speculation regarding a possible return of his character from the *X-Men* universe. Although he didn’t confirm anything definitively, he did discuss his ideas for where the character’s story could go next. He shared his thoughts with the publication, saying:
I really enjoyed playing that character, and exploring his unusual personal life was a lot of fun. It would be interesting to delve into that even further, especially his relationship with Magneto. Hopefully, there will be opportunities to do so in the future.
Someone asked him if dealing with all the fan theories and rumors had ever been tiring. He responded with a laugh, then said:
No, actually. I’m curious…
Evan Peters echoed the sentiment, and while he didn’t say for sure if he’d return, he seemed very enthusiastic about the possibility of appearing in another Marvel film.

After Disney bought Fox in 2019, Marvel began integrating the characters from the X-Men and Fantastic Four into the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige hinted at the arrival of mutants for a long time, and we’ve started to see them appear – with Beast showing up after the credits in The Marvels, Professor X in Doctor Strange: Multiverse of Madness, and Logan returning in Deadpool & Wolverine. Interestingly, one of the first hints actually came with the character of Peters in WandaVision. While it turned out to be a playful deception – he wasn’t the Quicksilver fans expected, but a character named Ralph Bohner – it still gave audiences a glimpse of what was to come.

Disney+ offers streaming access to Marvel’s Cinematic Universe and X-Men films. You can start watching with ads for as little as $9.99 per month. For an ad-free experience, it’s $15.99 monthly, or you can save 16% by paying $159.99 for an annual subscription. See the deal here.
While Quicksilver hasn’t been officially announced for the next *Avengers: Doomsday* movie and wasn’t included in recent merchandise showing the current *X-Men* team, Marvel could easily bring the character back with interesting storylines. The actor who played him has expressed a desire to delve into Pietro’s family life and his complex relationship with Magneto – something fans have been eager to see explored ever since the *X-Men* began integrating into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Fans of the comics have always known that Quicksilver and his sister Wanda are the children of Magneto, a connection that the Fox movies hinted at but didn’t fully develop. Now that Ian McKellen is returning as Magneto in the upcoming *Avengers: Doomsday*, it seems like a good time for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to explore that family relationship. Plus, as seen in the Disney+ series *WandaVision*, the multiverse is already allowing for new possibilities.
The next two major Marvel movies, *Avengers: Doomsday* and *Secret Wars*, are planned for release on December 18, 2026, and in 2027, respectively. While it hasn’t been officially confirmed, many fans are hoping Evan Peters will return, especially considering the multiverse allows for different versions of characters and his popular role in *WandaVision*. Hopefully, if he does appear, it will be as the true Pietro Maximoff, not his alter ego, Ralph Bohner.
