After releasing a video last week introducing the world and character Kliff in Crimson Desert, Pearl Abyss has now shared another video focusing on how the game’s combat and character progression will work.
This video covers the gameplay of the new open-world game, including how battles work, how to improve your character’s abilities, how to learn new skills, and how to get and create powerful equipment.
The Combat and Progression Overview video and a description can be found below, via Pearl Abyss.
Crimson Desert is set to release on March 19 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam).
Pearl Abyss has released a new video showcasing gameplay from their upcoming open-world adventure, Crimson Desert. The video focuses on the game’s combat and how players will develop their characters.
The newest video highlights the exciting combat and character progression in Crimson Desert, giving players lots of freedom to customize how they play. Combat in Crimson Desert is driven by player choices – not just through leveling up, but also by adapting to each fight. Players can use different mounts and even the surrounding environment to gain an advantage.
The game features a diverse range of weapons, like swords, spears, axes, and bows, each with its own unique advantages and playstyle. Players can obtain these weapons by buying them, finding them while exploring the game world, earning them as rewards for defeating bosses or completing quests, or even crafting them themselves.
Crimson Desert features dynamic and fluid combat where players can link together a wide range of attacks, including punches, kicks, grappling, and weapon-based moves. Adding to the strategy and excitement, weapons can be imbued with elemental powers like fire and ice.
As a fan, I’ve noticed that really understanding when to act is key to winning. If you pay attention to what your opponents are doing – how they move and attack – you can time your blocks and dodges perfectly. And that opens up opportunities to strike back and completely change the fight in your favor!
As I play, my character gets stronger by collecting something called Abyss Fragments. These are basically the key to unlocking new skills and making the ones I have even better. I usually find them by taking down tough bosses, but sometimes I just stumble across them while exploring the world of Pywel. And cool thing is, I can also learn abilities just by finding hidden stuff or finishing quests!
You can improve your weapons and gear by collecting materials from various activities like mining, defeating bosses, finishing quests, and exploring the world. You can also personalize how you play by adding special bonuses and effects to your equipment. Defeating certain bosses unlocks unique items like costumes and powerful skills related to that boss fight.
Crimson Desert will launch globally on March 19th for all platforms. You can pre-order the game now through the official website, or on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, Apple Mac, and the Epic Games Store.
