I vividly remember a time when the cast genuinely seemed to enjoy being together – those early reunion scenes in the turret were full of real happiness. It feels like a lifetime ago, honestly, considering how fractured things are now. That warmth and sense of camaraderie? Completely gone. These days, walking into a room with them is like stepping into a pressure cooker – the animosity is just palpable. You can feel the tension so strongly, it’s almost like witnessing a betrayal firsthand, and honestly, it’s as cutting as anything Lisa Rinna has faced.
Candiace and Rob meet for the first time since his betrayal, and a tense conversation unfolds. He attempts to justify his actions while Candiace explains why she secretly voted for him. It’s hypocritical of him to criticize her for doing something similar to what he did, but he’s trying to defend himself. Although their trust is broken, they still need to collaborate and decide if they’ll continue eliminating players, or bring someone new onto their team to replace Lisa.
Rob and Candiace have decided to eliminate another player, as Rob doesn’t want to risk bringing in someone who could turn against them. Candiace takes the lead on choosing who to target – Stephen, Natalie, or Colton – but Rob is secretly hoping she doesn’t choose Colton, as he’s a close ally. Ironically, Candiace picks Colton precisely because Rob is so protective of him. It seems odd that Rob would allow this, but he has a clever plan. He deliberately withheld information about Colton gossiping about Candiace, ensuring his death will look like revenge on her part. He’s setting her up to take the blame. While it’s a ruthless move, it’s undeniably a brilliant game strategy.
The news of Colton’s death breaks at breakfast, and everyone at the castle starts trying to figure out who might have helped Lisa. The show cleverly uses the start of the Winter Olympics as a backdrop for an early scene featuring Johnny and Tara discussing potential suspects – Johnny suspects Stephen, while Tara thinks it’s Natalie. If you enjoy seeing them work together, you can watch them in Milan. Elsewhere, Tara admits she’s not very good at the game and feels lost, which is something many viewers can relate to. I predict Tara will actually win it all! That kind of genuine confusion and lack of confidence is exactly what you need to succeed on this show, just like it did for Dolores last season. My intuition tells me Tara is destined to follow in her footsteps.
Okay, so things are really heating up! The remaining five players – they’re calling themselves “Dagger Six” – are all zeroing in on Candiace, and it’s all Rob’s fault. He dropped the bomb that Colton mentioned her name before he was… well, you know. The drama is intense! But Candiace isn’t going down without a fight. Right from the start, she’s desperately trying to prevent Rob from getting one of those shields. She even confessed that seeing Rob with a shield feels like an impossible task for her! It gets pretty awkward when the group starts deciding who to target, and Candiace clumsily tries to throw Johnny under the bus instead. It didn’t really work, though. Rob, Kristen, and Mark all get a chance to search for shields in a room full of paintings, while the rest of us split into teams to recreate those same paintings. Honestly, it felt like we were all auditioning for a local production of Sunday in the Park with George – posing and everything!
Following the mission where Kristen discovered the shield, Candiace tries to convince Stephen that Rob is untrustworthy. However, Rob arrives just as she begins, and Stephen politely gives them privacy. This season, we’ve seen the Traitors have a lot of private conversations, and today they clearly need it. Suspecting she’s been targeted, Candiace confronts Rob, accusing him of revealing her name, but he claims Colton was the one who did it. She quickly realizes Rob’s strategy and questions him, asking when he first learned about it. Rob tries to cover his tracks by saying he only found out that morning, but it’s too late. Candiace has figured out his game, and his obvious nervousness while lying confirms she’s caught him.
Honestly, I think he’s not getting that she’s really taking this seriously – he keeps framing it like it’s all just a game. And her response? Perfect. She straight-up tells him, “It is a game, and you are a snake!” But then she throws in this amazing threat: if she gets voted out tonight, she’s going to make sure his name comes up too. I live for this kind of drama! It makes you wonder what her strategy is, though. Since she can’t directly blame him after she’s gone, she probably means she’ll try to turn the others against him before the final vote. Still, points for the performance! I’m so glad we got this intense showdown before a roundtable where it’s pretty clear only one of them is walking away victorious.
Before the main confrontation, Johnny starts things off by questioning Stephen, revealing Colton had previously voiced concerns about him. Dorinda adds to this, reminding everyone about last week’s challenge where Lisa – who they later discovered was a traitor – surprisingly put her gold in Stephen’s box. Dorinda implied this suggested a close relationship between them, but Stephen explained he’d simply asked her to do so. Although this was some of the strongest evidence presented so far, it ultimately didn’t convince the group.
The focus quickly shifted to Candiace and her surprising vote for Rob, as she’s usually very firm in her opinions. This vote essentially started her downfall. She attempted to deflect by suggesting Rob seemed unusually agitated at breakfast, but his dropping a fork didn’t prove anything. In fact, this tactic backfired. As Maura noted, Candiace’s clear targeting of Rob made her initial vote seem less like a casual one and more deliberate. Despite this, Candiace continued to insist Rob was manipulating Colton to get rid of Lisa, claiming Colton was just a pawn in Rob’s plan. This was ironic, considering Colton is known for actually having a beard.
Despite Candiace’s last-minute efforts to take it from him, Rob confidently kept the Power of the Dagger, which would give him double the voting power—and he was right to do so. Unfortunately for viewers, Candiace was overwhelmingly voted out of the castle. Rob’s risky betrayal of Lisa threw her off balance, and ultimately, her own reaction to it led to her elimination.
Rob, the last remaining Traitor, needs to choose a new accomplice and figure out how to use them. Alone, he’s weighing his options: should he bring in Johnny, a likely suspect who could draw attention away from himself, or someone more useful like Eric or Mark? He dismisses Mark as too forgettable – nobody would even notice him long enough to vote him out, meaning Rob would likely have to share any winnings. Instead, he tries to convince Eric to join him. Upon receiving his invitation, Eric immediately claims, “That handwriting is the Traitor’s, and I know who it is: Johnny,” proving his judgment isn’t much better than his unreliable hearing.
He might not be the most perceptive person, but he’s incredibly self-assured, making his reaction when Rob removes his hood particularly amusing. The big question is whether Eric will accept what’s offered, or face a grim fate. It’s likely he’ll survive, but we’ll have to wait and see – after all, it’s a cliffhanger!
