Colin Farrell recently shared his excitement about the script for The Batman 2, describing it as excellent. While he didn’t reveal any plot details, his positive comments have increased fans’ eagerness for the sequel.
Colin Farrell praises The Batman 2 script
Colin Farrell has once more praised the script for the upcoming Batman sequel, but he’s keeping the story details a secret.
In a recent Entertainment Tonight interview, Colin Farrell was asked about what’s next for his character, the Penguin, in The Batman. He playfully avoided answering directly, joking, “If I told you anything, I’d have to kill you!”
Speaking seriously, Farrell shared that he’d already read the script and was very impressed with Matt Reeves’ work as both a writer and director. He admitted he didn’t know much about the project details, but praised the script as “extraordinary” and “beautiful,” calling it a pleasure to read. Farrell also expressed his enthusiasm for being involved in any role the project offered, saying he was “excited to be any part of it.”
Farrell has complimented Reeves’ work before. He once called a script Reeves wrote a “masterpiece,” describing it as a modern classic of its genre, during an appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast in 2025.
The actor praised the screenplay as deeply complex and highlighted the emotional arc his co-star, Robert Pattinson, would experience throughout the story. He described it as a ‘brilliant’ journey for both Pattinson and the audience.
I’m really excited to hear that they’re planning to start filming The Batman Part II this spring! It’s still a ways off, but we can mark our calendars for October 1st, 2027, because that’s when it’s hitting theaters. And the best part? Both Robert Pattinson is coming back as Batman, and Colin Farrell will be back as the Penguin, which is fantastic news!
