The gameplay trailer for MLB The Show 26 was released today, and it’s packed with details about new and improved features and game modes.

In terms of actual gameplay itself, here are the biggest gameplay changes coming to MLB The Show 26:

  • New Big Zone hitting interface for players of all skill levels
  • New Stadiums (Tokyo Dome, Estadio Hiram Bithorn, and Terrapin Park)
  • Bear Down Pitching
  • “Hits per 9 innings and strikeouts per 9 innings attribute splits and pitch repertoire usage rate”
  • Reaction rating attributes for left, right, forward, and backfielders
  • New Catcher Pop Time Attribute
  • New PCI Indicator sensitivity slider
  • Over 500 new Gameplay animations

The official NCAA Men’s College World Series bracket and format are also being added to the game, giving you new objectives to achieve as you progress.

If you’re eager to start building a baseball career right away, try Road to the Show: Road to Cooperstown. You’ll begin as a high school player and progress through your entire career. The ultimate goal? Finish strong and earn a place in the Hall of Fame!

Diamond Dynasty is back with fresh ways to play! This popular card-collecting and team-building mode has been updated with improvements to make it even better. This year, you can experience the excitement of the World Baseball Classic within Diamond Dynasty, including iconic ballparks like Tokyo Dome and Estadio Hiram Bithorn.

We’re also making big changes to Mini-Seasons, but we’ll share details about those later. You can look forward to fresh rewards, events, and collections in Dead by Daylight, plus regular updates to keep the challenges and gameplay exciting.

Storylines is returning with a new season focused on the Negro Leagues! Season 4 introduces fresh legendary players, updated uniforms, stadiums, and compelling stories. If you’re new to the series, Storylines is a historical game mode where you can play through different levels and discover the rich history and players of the league.

San Diego Studio announced improvements to Franchise mode, including a revamped trade system designed to feel more realistic. The game now features smarter decision-making for things like player lineups, starting pitchers, and bullpen management. These changes aim to create a deeper, more authentic experience while remaining accessible to new players.
