On January 31, 2026, 2K launched the first gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated WWE 2K26. Last year’s WWE 2K25 was a significant improvement over WWE 2K24, offering new features, arenas, and weapons. Building on that success, WWE 2K26 will include even more new features and improvements.
WWE 2K26 is bringing exciting new features and improvements to the game. Players can expect more chaotic and unique matches with the addition of new match types and weapons inspired by the Attitude Era. The game also includes long-requested features, like enhanced weapon physics, making every fight feel more realistic and dynamic.
WWE 2K26 new gameplay features
WWE 2K26 is adding four new match types and several new weapons like thumbtacks, stackable tables, and shopping carts. More weapons are planned for release throughout the year with the new Ringside Pass.
Players can also look forward to several gameplay improvements, like more realistic weapon handling, a stamina system that affects actions, and better tools for creating content. Plus, the popular Island mode—previously only available on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S—is now coming to PC.
As a huge fan, I’m really excited about the updates to MyRise and MyGM! It’s awesome that we’ll finally be able to keep playing with our MyRise characters even after the story ends. And even better, 2K26 is bringing back the draft to the Universe mode – it’s been over ten years since we’ve had that, and I can’t wait to experience it again!
New WWE 2K26 match types
WWE 2K26, coming out later this year, will feature both classic and completely new match types. Players can look forward to the return of fan favorites alongside four new additions: I Quit, Dumpster, Inferno, and 3 Stages of Hell. The Inferno match will especially appeal to fans of the Attitude Era and the Monday Night Wars. The Dumpster match is anticipated to play similarly to the existing Casket match.
As a fan, I’m really curious to see what they have planned for the I Quit match! The last few times it felt a lot like a regular submission match, but I’m hoping for something more creative this time around. And the Three Stages of Hell matches? Those are awesome because they’re basically three different match types rolled into one – you can have any kind of singles match you want for each stage, which makes for a really unpredictable and exciting fight!
More information on WWE 2K26 The Island

WWE 2K26 is bringing its popular “The Island” mode to PC players for the very first time. Originally released last year, The Island has been expanded and is now more focused on social gameplay, according to Steam. Players can team up with friends and family, choose one of three factions, and compete for dominance in co-op action.
Players can now enjoy a new arena called the Scrapyard, along with updated towers, shops, and branded items. This latest update also features an improved MySUPERSTAR builder that lets you create customized characters using face scanning.
More information on WWE 2K26’s new features
WWE 2K26 is expanding its MyGM mode with several new options. Players will be able to create inter-gender matches, compete in larger matches with up to eight participants, and choose from a wider variety of match types. Managers will also have more shows to manage each season.
The updated physics engine will make gameplay feel more realistic, similar to what fans experienced in older Raw vs. SmackDown games. Now, players can realistically drop opponents onto steel chairs, stairs, thumbtacks, and other weapons without the game automatically stopping the fall. Landing on these objects will inflict additional damage.
The updated creation tools will let players add 2000 custom images and create 200 unique characters. The popular detailed character customization options, which haven’t been available since WWE 2K19, are also coming back.
WWE 2K26 is set to release on Mar. 13, 2026, across PC, PS5, and Xbox.
