It’s not a roadmap, it’s an „epitaph.” Players are ruthless about the future of Bloodlines 2, which has lost 99% of its users on Steam

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 was a major letdown for fans and is considered one of last year’s biggest gaming disappointments. Even the publisher, Paradox, acknowledged the game didn’t meet expectations. However, the developers haven’t given up and are continuing to work on it, and we now have a look at their plans for improvement.

Bloodlines 2 roadmap

The developers of Bloodlines 2, Chinese Room studio, have announced their plans for 2026 on Steam. They’ve outlined three main phases, starting with a Valentine’s update on February 11th. This update will add new character customization options, items dropped by enemies, and various bug fixes to the game.

We’ll be releasing some exciting new content soon. The first major update, called Loose Cannon, is planned for release sometime between January and June of 2026. It features a new storyline focusing on Benny Muldoon, Prince Campbell’s enforcer, a character who favors direct, forceful action.

The next major update is planned for release between April and September of 2026. Called The Flower & the Flame, it will follow the story of Ysabella as she attempts to create her greatest work, according to its Steam description.

Players criticize the devs

It’s good the developer is keeping its word, but it’s still uncertain if the new downloadable content will revive interest in Bloodlines 2. Currently, the game isn’t attracting many players – right now, only about 92 people are playing, and the peak in the last 24 hours was just 191. Since launch, the game has lost 99% of its player base on Steam.

Given that the original game wasn’t successful, it’s likely the new content was made quickly and inexpensively. Many players don’t seem excited about it, so the negative feedback the creators are receiving is perfectly reasonable.

Your top priority should be creating a time machine to go back and prevent this terrible thing from being released.

The game’s post-release plan feels more like a mess than a roadmap. It’s strange to offer downloadable content featuring characters the player already defeated. What’s the point? They don’t have compelling reasons to be added now, and it doesn’t really enhance the story since the game is finished.

LOL. This isn’t a roadmap; it’s an epitaph.

If you still want to check out Bloodlines 2, the game is available on PC, PS5, and XSX/S.
