While we await news on when Season 3 of the Apple TV+ series *Silo* will premiere, fans can enjoy the book that inspires the upcoming episodes. A special, beautifully designed edition of Hugh Howey’s *Shift* – the book Season 3 is based on – was just released. You can find this deluxe collection of stories for $37 at Amazon or Walmart.

Though it’s the second book in the Silo series, *Shift* actually takes place before the events of *Wool*. Right now, you can find a special collector’s edition of *Wool* at Walmart for just $20 – it’s half off the original price of $40! It was also available on Amazon, but it’s currently sold out. Both Amazon and Walmart are offering the complete Silo Series 3-Book Box Set for a record-low price of $22 – a great deal considering it was first published in paperback back in 2020. Plus, for ebook readers, the Kindle version of the box set is on sale for only $3 for a limited time.

Wool depicts a future where humanity is confined to an underground silo because the surface world is uninhabitable. When the silo’s sheriff unexpectedly departs, a mechanic named Juliette steps up to take his place. This sets off a thrilling science fiction story as Juliette begins to uncover a massive conspiracy that could change everything.

Hugh Howey first published *Wool* himself through Amazon’s Kindle Direct Publishing. He released it in parts, similar to how novels were published in the 1800s – in installments – by authors like Charles Dickens. Andy Weir, who wrote *The Martian*, also found success by releasing his story bit by bit, but he used his own blog instead.

I first discovered ‘Wool’ as one of those early Kindle success stories – it really blew up! It was awesome to see it go from an ebook to a physical book, and then even better when it became a TV series on Apple TV+. The show launched in 2023 and everyone loved it. We’re getting a fourth and final season, which should be out late next year, though that depends on when Season 3 actually airs – it could be later this year or early 2026.

The Silo series is fantastic as an audiobook, narrated by Edoardo Ballerini. Audible subscribers can purchase all three books for approximately $30, while those without a subscription will pay around $40. A graphic novel version of *Wool* came out in 2014 and is currently available in paperback for just $11.50, discounted from $19.
