Dark fantasy tactical roguelite RPG Blightstone now available in Steam Early Access

The indie developer Unfinished Pixel has released Blightstone on Steam Early Access for PC. The game costs $15.99, but it’s currently 20% off for the first two weeks.

Blightstone is a game where you control a team and make tactical decisions, but it doesn’t use a restrictive grid system. It also features roguelike elements, meaning each playthrough is unique and challenging.

It’s priced at $15.99 USD / EUR, and for the first two weeks after launch, you can get it with a 20% discount. Blightstone offers a fresh take on turn-based strategy with open movement, unpredictable elemental interactions, and a unique time-bending system that permanently changes the game world with each playthrough.

Blightstone puts you in charge of a group of heroes connected by a magical crystal in a world falling apart. With each attempt, you’ll fight against the spreading corruption and the land’s destruction. You’ll need to use skills you’ve learned, powerful gear, and teamwork to survive challenging battles across landscapes transformed by fire, ice, and lightning. A single perfect move can save you, but one mistake means everything is lost. To survive, you’ll need not only strength, but also the ability to learn, adapt, and bravely face the dangers ahead.

Form a Fellowship

Meet a diverse cast of adventurers, each bringing unique abilities to the fight. Become a powerful Brawler, dominating enemies up close. Or, choose the Hunter to carefully plan attacks from afar. If you prefer magic, master the mystical arts as the Arcanist, or harness the power of nature as the Druid.

Every hero has unique skills, but the team truly shines when you combine them effectively. Use the Hunter’s traps or the Druid’s vines to control enemy movement, then combine that with the Arcanist’s ability to group enemies together so the Brawler can deliver a powerful attack.

Your party must come together if we are to stand any chance of destroying the Blightstone.

Break the Mould

Every character, both friendly and hostile, can move freely during battles. Our game features a flexible, gridless system that lets players use smart tactics to overcome their enemies.

Move freely around the battlefield – there are no grid spaces to restrict you. Flank opponents, push them into traps, and use clever positioning to gain an advantage. Every decision matters in these dynamic, placement-focused fights.

Embrace the Environment

You’ll face challenges from more than just your opponents. Changing weather conditions will force you to adapt your plans as you journey towards the rift.

Be prepared, Adventurers – it won’t always be clear skies! Fog, rain, and strong winds will affect battles. Weather can hide enemies, boost electrical attacks, and even throw off your heroes’ aim. So, just like picking the best skills, keeping an eye on the weather is a crucial part of winning.

No good fantasy adventure is complete without magic! And when your heroes inevitably fall in battle, Xander will revive them, giving you another chance to conquer the Rift.
