Verdict on A Gangster’s Life

Recap

This film centers around two small-time crooks who con the wrong person—a dangerous gangster. To fix things, they try to help him make even more money, but their efforts only lead to bigger trouble.

Best Parts

The location is a nice setting for the movie, with the guys heading to Greece for safety.

Worst Parts

This movie can’t seem to decide what kind of film it wants to be. It jumps between gritty gangster scenes and silly humor, and the characters never really feel threatened, even with dangerous people around. It seems to be aiming for the style of films like Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels or Sexy Beast, but ultimately falls short of capturing that same energy.
