A moderator of the popular Reddit community ‘LiveStreamFails’ was removed from their role after promoting a questionable reality TV show named ‘Million Dollar Fan.’
Starting in January 2026, a show called ‘Million Dollar Fan’ began being advertised prominently on the LiveStreamFails (LSF) subreddit. Around the same time, several popular streamers managed by Mythic Talent, including Twitch personality ExtraEmily, also started promoting the show.
The show was planned to stream on Amazon Prime, with production starting in Vancouver, Canada, in November 2026. Contestants would live together in a large, high-end mansion for a week, and both they and their fans would compete in challenges for a grand prize of $20 million—a bigger payout than even MrBeast’s record-breaking game show, which has already earned over 40 Guinness World Records.
The large prize money immediately raised suspicions among streamers, prompting them to look into the show. They soon discovered several problems with the official website, which was registered in Iceland and featured a generic, AI-created image of the supposed luxury mansion on its homepage.

It didn’t take long for people on Reddit to start calling the show a scam. On January 13th, the website stopped working and now displays a message saying it’s unreachable.
‘Million Dollar Fan’ reality show sparks controversy on LSF
Even after the website was taken down, people on Reddit started focusing on the moderator who had highlighted the Million Dollar Show promotion on the LSF subreddit.
Some users questioned whether the moderator, stale2000, and other LSF moderators were being paid to promote the show, suggesting the promotion might not be genuine.
Stale2000 responded to comments on his pinned post, sharing that he contacted the show’s producers hoping to find a way to include LSF in the project.
“I reached out to them on my own because I thought the show was cool, and that’s it,” he wrote.

He also removed several comments calling out the post, which was later removed by other moderators.
Following an internal review by Reddit’s standards team, he was reportedly removed from his role as a moderator for the League of Legends subreddit. He shared his account of what happened in a video sent to Reddit’s CEO, Spez, and the video is now widely circulating online.
LSF mod removed over show controversy demands change
Brian, known online as Stale2000, uploaded a video to YouTube on January 15th asking Reddit’s CEO, Spez, for more help for moderators. He argued that because Reddit moderators have so much impact on the platform, they deserve the same level of support as public figures.
Reddit moderators wield significant power and influence. They control what millions of users see each day, but this often goes unnoticed and unaddressed.
Reddit moderators wield significant power and influence over the platform, and should be recognized as such – similar to how we view celebrities or influencers. While they may not deserve special treatment simply for being moderators, their impact on Reddit’s success – and potentially its multi-billion dollar value – is undeniable. Providing better support for these moderators could even help the company double in value.
The show’s moderator disputed accusations that the program is a ‘scam,’ stating that no solid proof has been presented to support those claims.
He also criticized popular online creator MoistCritikal, who had recently posted a video jokingly referencing The Million Dollar Show just before the page was taken down and the situation deteriorated.
MoistCritikal responds to Reddit moderator who promoted Million Dollar Show
The next day, MoistCritikal posted a video responding to the situation. He said he was shocked and speechless, describing the moderator as someone who abused their power and believing their behavior deserved to get them removed from their position.
I genuinely feel sorry for him, as this role clearly meant a lot to him. I hope things go well for him in the future, but I don’t believe starting a talent agency for modders is the right move. He described the whole experience as incredibly strange and surprising.
A video by Stale2000 became popular on social media starting January 16th, with many people making fun of it and joking that he seems like the typical Reddit moderator.
“Looks exactly what a Reddit moderator is supposed to look like,” a commenter on YouTube said.
“Oh my god, this is the most embarrassing sh*t I have ever seen,” another wrote.
“The CIA couldn’t have gotten this out of me with a car battery,” yet another joked.
There haven’t been any updates about the Million Dollar Show, and fans – including dedicated supporters like stale2000 – are anxiously waiting for news.
