As a huge Animal Crossing fan, I was so excited about the 3.0 update! One of the coolest additions is definitely Resetti’s Reset Service. Basically, it lets you make big changes to your island – like moving rivers and buildings – without having to do all the work yourself. There are a few things to keep in mind, like costs and what you can actually change, but I’ve put together a guide to explain how to unlock the service and everything you need to know about using it.
How to find Resetti and unlock his services

Want to completely redesign your island in Animal Crossing? Resetti’s Reset Service can make cleanup much easier, especially if you’re planning a major makeover. He’ll do most of the work for you! First, though, you need to find Resetti to unlock his services.
To access this content, you need to be playing version 3.0 of the game. You can check your version on the main menu loading screen – it should start with the number 3.
After you’ve updated to version 3.0, Resetti will start appearing somewhere on your island. You’ll need to search around until you find him walking about. Once you do, talk to him so he can explain what he does. He seems to wander all over, so make sure you check every corner of your island if you’re having trouble finding him.
How to use Resetti’s Reset Service

After you talk to Resetti, you can use his Reset Service immediately, or you can hire him through Isabelle at Resident Services whenever you’re ready. The first time is free, so you can save it for later if you prefer. After that, each use of Resetti’s Reset Service will cost 60,000 Bells.
The fee might sound hefty, but he’ll tidy up as much as you want before the day ends.
Resetti can clean the whole island at once, or you can tell him to focus on certain spots. You can ask him to tidy up the beach, or select a specific area – roughly a 10×10 square – for him to work on. This is really useful for smaller cleanup tasks.
If you decide where you want to reset the island, Resetti will give you a special device. You’ll find it in your inventory – just open it and equip the device after choosing your area. It will show you a 10×10 section highlighted in orange, so you know exactly which part of the island will be reset.
What is covered with Resetti’s Reset Service
As Resetti explains, he can reset decorative things, including:
- Furniture
- Fencing
- Ladders
- Additional decor you’ve placed on the ground
The items he resets for you are placed in storage, so you can redecorate with them later on.
Resetti’s services aren’t all-inclusive. He specifically won’t handle cleaning up lost items – things that wash up on the beach or are buried underground, for example.
- Shells
- Coral
- Trees
- Crops
- Weeds
You have a few options for getting rid of weeds on your island, but flowers are treated differently. As an extra service, he can move any flowers and custom designs you’ve placed and either discard them or store them for you.
Resetti doesn’t just reset your game – he also gets rid of pests! He’ll take care of any cockroaches in your house, so you won’t have to deal with them yourself.
You can get Resetti to return to your island by talking to Isabelle at Resident Services. If you have enough Bells, he’s usually available to help. However, he doesn’t work during festivals or special events.
