All Hytale Weapons: How To Craft And Upgrade Swords, Bows, And More

When you first start playing Hytale, getting weapons is essential. Even if you’d prefer to focus on exploring, collecting resources, and building a base with friends, dangerous creatures can appear at any time. You’ll need to be able to protect yourself and defeat these mobs, as they often drop useful materials needed for crafting.

In Hytale, you’ll improve your weapons by finding rare materials and crafting better ones. But before you can fully enjoy exploring the game world, you’ll need to learn the recipes for these weapons, understand what they do, and know how to upgrade them.

You’ll probably notice this weapon list is pretty simple. If you’re familiar with Hytale’s Creative Mode, you’ve likely seen powerful weapons like the Rifle, Void Scythe, and Onyxium Battleaxe. While you can use these in Creative, they don’t seem to be available in Survival Mode yet. No one has discovered a way to get them in Survival, so it’s unclear if they’re even obtainable.

As Hytale’s early access period continues, we plan to add new weapons to the game. If these weapons can be crafted in Survival mode, we’ll include the crafting recipe in our documentation.

How to repair and upgrade weapons in Hytale

In Hytale, players will probably begin with a simple weapon, such as a sword or mace. These are the easiest weapons to make, representing the most basic crafting level.

As you continue to use a weapon in Hytale, it will wear down and eventually break, making it unusable in battle. Luckily, you can fix it by crafting a Repair Kit. These kits are made at a Workbench using a simple recipe:

  • 1x Light Leather, 1x Iron Ingot, 2x Linen Scraps

After you make a Repair Kit, you can use it to fix any damaged weapon and restore it to its full condition.

Upgrading your weapons to use better materials requires improving your Blacksmith’s Anvil. At level one, you can craft basic weapons like those made from Crude, Copper, and Iron. Level two lets you make Thorium and Cobalt weapons, and a level three anvil unlocks the ability to craft weapons from Adamantite and Mithril.

Check the Blacksmith’s Anvil to see its current level and the requirements for upgrading it. Like all Workbenches, leveling it up takes a lot of resources.

Okay, so leveling up all your Workbenches in Hytale takes a while, but I’ve found it’s super helpful to focus on the anvil first. By the time I got some Copper weapons, I was ready to get the anvil to level two, which let me upgrade to Thorium – that was a game changer! Honestly, even if you fall a little behind, the anvil is pretty easy to level up. Like, to get the level two Blacksmith’s Anvil, you need:

  • 15x Venom Sacs, 20x Iron Ingots, 30x Light Leather, 30x Linen Scraps

As you get the hang of Hytale, you’ll find yourself regularly making, fixing, and improving your weapons.
