Dragon Traveler is a fun mobile RPG where you collect heroes and level them up, even while you’re not actively playing. The game features over 50 unique characters, each with different abilities. While some of the strongest heroes, called Luminaries, seem great at first glance, their true strength comes down to how well their skills work in both single-player and player-versus-player battles. Some heroes stay powerful throughout the game, but others become less useful as you progress. This tier list ranks all Luminaries to help you pick the best ones for your team, based on how effective and adaptable they are.

S Tier – Best Luminaries in Dragon Traveler
| Luminary | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
| Poseidon | + Damage ramps up extremely fast as fights progress, overwhelming enemies + Strong AoE pressure combined with soft crowd control effects + Scales exceptionally well with gear and investment + Fits seamlessly into almost every team composition |
| Athena | + One of the best damage-soaking Guardians in the game + Shields allies while absorbing lethal damage herself + Provides consistent frontline stability in all modes + Still contributes good DPS damage for a defensive unit |
| Hades | + Clone-based assassin mechanics constantly pressure enemy backlines + Forces enemies to waste skills on illusions + Strong in both PvP and boss encounters + Remains effective even with moderate investment |
| Ifrit | + Ignite-based damage scales extremely well over time + Consistent DPS in both short and extended fights + Excellent synergy with burn and AoE teams + Strong across all game modes |
| Ares | + Extremely high burst damage with self-buffing mechanics + Stats scale a lot once he secures a kill + Strong frontline presence despite being offense-focused + One of the most oppressive UR damage dealers |
| Huginn and Muninn | + Shreds enemy teams with sustained high attack speed damage + Excels against both tanks and squishy targets + Reliable DPS in PvE and PvP alike + Minimal setup required to perform well |
| Scheherazade | + Highest overall healing output in Dragon Traveler + Provides consistent sustain in long fights + Works in nearly every team composition + Scales extremely well into late game |
| Faust | + High-risk, high-reward mage with explosive AoE burst + Damage scales aggressively with enemy debuffs + Excellent boss and wave-clearing potential + One of the strongest offensive mages when built correctly |
A Tier Luminaries
| Luminary | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
| Fenrir | + Exceptional single-target burst damage + Deletes priority targets quickly + Great if enemies lack assassin counters |
| Marylis | + Strong overall damage and dueling potential + Effective against priority enemies + Requires external healing to stay consistent |
| Gullveig | + Healing suppression heavily punishes sustain teams + Strong health-drain mechanics in skills + Situationally devastating, especially when heavily invested |
| Medusa | + Fast and consistent DPS output + Easy to slot into most teams, versatile pick + Slightly weaker burst compared to top-tier archers |
| Brynhild | + Balanced warrior with good burst and survivability + Performs well in extended fights + Lacks overwhelming late-game scaling |
| Helveil | + Strong debuff application and control presence + Useful against tank-heavy teams + Damage output is more utility-focused |
| Atanith | + Enables lifesteal-heavy team comps + Adds crowd control to sustain teams + Strong in most PvE game modes |
| Titania | + Very high raw healing output + Keeps teams alive through heavy pressure + Limited utility outside healing |
| Tyrfing | + Solid burst warrior with execution mechanics + Good synergy with buffers + Falls short against heavily armored enemies |
| Asteros | + Balanced mage with reliable AoE damage + Consistent performance across modes + Does not excel in burst situations |
B Tier Luminaries
| Luminary | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
| Lorilin | + Strong single-target burst DPS + Good against most boss fights and modes – Limited AoE, bad against a group of enemies |
| Nemesis | + Useful backline assassin + Good PvP usage, especially with equipment – Requires careful positioning, else useless |
| Nanalie | + High AoE damage potential in skills + Can swing fights quickly with multihit – Extremely fragile. Requires a Guardian to be alive |
| Herman | + Decently Tanky with healing suppression tools + Good early-game guardian in most modes – Becomes fragile later. Outclassed by other tanks |
| Caligula | + Damage reduction and shielding buffs for allies + Helps against burst teams. Especially in PvP – Healing output is limited. Not great as a Priest |
| Chiron | + Provides healing with morale support + Stable buffer with somewhat useful DPS – Lower impact than top priests. Outclassed overall |
| Siegfried | + Has decent off-tank capabilities early on + Decent warrior damage in most modes – Needs heavy support late game |
| Anubis | + Reliable frontline guardian. Counters assassins + Solid defensive kit. Good skills for tank – Weak to HP reduction effects |
| Drasill | + Shields and supplemental healing + Useful in double-guardian teams – Cannot replace a main healer |
| Goren | + HP-scaling damage and stuns + Works as a secondary tank – Poor performance as a main guardian |
C Tier Luminaries
| Luminary | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
| Cleopatra | + Summon-based mechanics are unique + Can work with specific synergies – Currently lacks strong summon support |
| White Tiger | + Decent burst damage from skills + Fast assassin with good overall DPS – Self-sacrifice makes her unreliable |
| Telperion | + Row-based AoE damage from skills + Useful in most PvE stages – Damage output is RNG-heavy |
| Guna | + Hybrid kit concept with both burst and AoE + Flexible early filler for DPS – Lacks a clear role and synergy |
| Lancelot | + High speed assassin with backline diving + Easy to use in most teams – Insufficient burst damage for late game |
| Van Helsing | + Useful early-game archer for PvE modes + Simple skills, decent DPS – Poor scaling into the late game. Useless in PvP |
| Jormungandr | + Tanky stats with poison debuffs + Can work as a decent frontliner – Overall, DPS and debuffs are both underwhelming |
D Tier – Worst Luminaries in Dragon Traveler
| Luminary | Pros & Cons |
|---|---|
| Mordred | + Has decent assassin skills – Poor scaling across all modes – Easily outclassed by other assassins |
| Ophelia | + Provides minimal support and heals – Healing and buffs are too weak – No late-game use in any mode |
| Pan Junbao | + Decent assassin skills exist – Skills taunt assassin but are useless in PvE – Low HP. Dies before contributing |
| Cerberus | + Simple mage kit. Decent overall DPS – Extremely low impact in most modes – No meaningful team comps or combos |
| Arthur | + Beginner-friendly warrior for most teams – Severely underpowered, bad scaling – Outclassed immediately and has Bad stats |
| Beowulf | + Lackluster warrior kit, decent DPS, and stats – Skill DMG multipliers are comparatively very low – Has no meaningful buffs or scaling, falls off quickly |
| Gudong | + Has high base HP, can survive briefly in early encounters – Skills lack proper scaling, ineffective mid-game onwards – Buffs do not synergize well with any team comp |
How to Reroll in Dragon Traveler
Okay, so you can reroll in Dragon Traveler, which is great! First, you need to finish Chapter One – that unlocks the summoning feature and gets you some initial rewards. A really important thing is to make sure you’re playing on a guest account, not linked to anything. Also, definitely redeem all the codes available – they give you the currency you need to summon characters. If you don’t get the character you want after summoning, here’s what I’ve learned you need to do…
- Go to the Profile by selecting your image in the top left corner of the screen.
- Select the ‘User Center‘ option to check your account.
- From the menu, select the ‘Delete Account‘ option.
- Read the Account Deletion Disclaimer and press ‘Confirm’.
- Once completed, you can log in to a new Guest Account.
Next, make a new guest account and go through the tutorial and first chapter one more time to unlock new units. After you get a powerful S-tier Luminary, you can link your account to save your game progress.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Poseidon, Athena, Ares, Hades, Ifrit, and Scheherazade are all highly valued characters because of their strong attack power, useful abilities, helpful stats, and how well they fit into different teams.
Once you finish Chapter One and enter all the codes, you can sign out and create a new guest account to try again.
It’s not always the case that Ultra Rare (UR) units are better. Some high-level Super Rare (SSR) units – like Scheherazade, Huginn, and Muninn – can actually be more powerful than weaker UR units, especially if you’ve invested in leveling them up and equipping them with good gear.
Only as very early fillers. They fall off quickly and should not receive long-term resources.
You can find more detailed game tier lists, including guides for rerolling and the Realm Traveler, on GamerTop!
