Well now, wouldn’t you know it? NEAR AI, that upstart collection of clever folks fiddling with artificial intelligence, has seen fit to hitch its wagon to the star of NVIDIA. Seems they’ve been accepted into NVIDIA’s Inception Program-a fancy name for a school for promising AI scamps. Apparently, it’s a place where bright ideas go to get polished and, one supposes, to avoid getting lost in the wilderness of technological progress.🧐
NEAR, bless their ambitious hearts, claim this strengthens their commitment to building AI tools that are both verifiable and privacy-preserving. Verifiable, you say? As if AI isn’t mysterious enough already! Sounds like they’re tryin’ to tame a wildcat with a lace handkerchief. The announcement came on the 13th of January, a date that, as every sensible person knows, is usually best reserved for staying indoors.
“Through the program, NEAR AI gains access to NVIDIA’s technical expertise, advanced tooling, and GPU resources, enabling us to accelerate development while meeting the rigorous performance, security, and reliability standards required by enterprise users,” the team wrote.
In simpler English, they get to borrow NVIDIA’s toys and the guidance of folks who actually know how they work. Not a bad arrangement, I reckon. It also buys them a seat near the cool kids’ table at NVIDIA’s venture capital soirees-a chance to impress investors and perhaps acquire a few dollars in the process. Naturally, eligibility applies. One doesn’t simply waltz into a gathering of venture capitalists, you know.
Now, this ain’t no new romance, mind you. NVIDIA’s Confidential Computing is already a “core component” of NEAR’s workings – fancy tech jargon for keeping secrets safe. They’re protecting data, keeping it under lock and key even while it’s thinkin’. They claim it’s vital for governments and businesses. Makes a fella wonder what they’re hiding.🧐
Brave Browser and other enterprises are already utilizing NEAR AI Cloud’s privacy features which is still being touted. And, wouldn’t you know it, Solana’s official account even teased a NEAR integration last year, showing a picture of NVIDIA’s CEO, Mr. Jensen Huang, having a chinwag with NEAR’s co-founder, Mr. Illia Polosukhin – a chap who, I’m told, penned some influential writing about “Attention.” Sounds important! 🤩
NEAR Price Analysis
As for the value of NEAR itself, well, it’s currently fluctuating like a politician’s promises at around $1.83 - a bit more than it was yesterday, thanks to this whole NVIDIA kerfuffle. Seems folks are bettin’ on this partnership. A 7% jump, they tell me. Sometimes, a man just wants a stable currency, but I digress.
NEAR 24-hour price chart as of January 13, 2025 | Source: CoinMarketCap
Folks are actually trading the thing – to the tune of $270 million worth today. That’s an 11% increase in activity! Now, that’s what I call a lively market, though whether it’s based on sound investment or plain old speculation is a question best left to the philosophers. This volume accounts for 11% of NEAR’s $2.35 billion market capitalization… which is a lot of numbers, if you ask me. Lands it at number 39 on some list-a rather respectable rank, wouldn’t you say?
NEAR’s been gettin’ some attention because of somethin’ called “NEAR Intents” (sounds like a plot from a dime novel) and they even managed to cut down on creating new tokens-reduced the annual production by half. Makes one wonder if those folks at NEAR know somethin’ we don’t…🤔
