Tessa Thompson discusses Valkyrie’s return prospects in Avengers: Doomsday

Tessa Thompson hasn’t said whether she’ll be in the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie. When asked about it on the Bingeworthy podcast, she simply said she couldn’t confirm anything, remaining tight-lipped about her potential involvement in the film, which is currently being filmed in the U.K.

Thompson expressed her strong enjoyment of playing Valkyrie and being part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. She stated she’s always eager to return to the role, saying, “I absolutely love the character.” She particularly highlighted the collaborative spirit of the MCU, praising the talented directors and fellow actors she gets to work with, calling it “the coolest thing” about being involved.

She highlighted the creative freedom within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, explaining that filmmakers have a lot of room to play with different tones and genres, like drama and comedy. When talking about bringing Valkyrie back in future films, Thompson also mentioned she’d love to see a romance develop between Valkyrie and Captain Marvel, joking that Captain Marvel is currently single and open to possibilities. She definitely wouldn’t object to that pairing!

In the same podcast interview, Thompson talked about her relationship with Jon Bernthal, her co-star in ‘His & Hers’. She explained they never discussed their Marvel characters while filming, except near the end of production when Bernthal was getting ready to reprise his role as The Punisher.

I’ve been following the Creed films closely, and it’s clear Thompson and the team aren’t finished with the story yet. They genuinely love those characters, and she hinted at more sequels if fans keep showing up. What’s fascinating is their approach to each new movie – they don’t start with the plot, but with the characters themselves.
