Paramount+ has some fantastic shows available right now. Three series, in particular, offer a great mix of suspense, excellent acting, and are perfect for a weekend binge-watch, specifically from January 9th to 11th, 2026.
Paramount+ remains the best place to watch shows created by Taylor Sheridan, including hits like Landman and Tulsa King. But the platform also has a lot of other great content, and two new, exciting crime thrillers are available to start watching immediately.
Coldwater
The new psychological thriller series, Coldwater, starts streaming this Sunday, January 11th, on Paramount+. All six episodes will be released weekly on Sundays, with the final episode airing on February 15th.
In the new thriller Coldwater, Andrew Lincoln (known from The Walking Dead) plays John, a man who relocates his family to a quiet town. They soon discover their neighbor, Tommy (played by Ewen Bremner), is hiding something strange. As John and his wife, Fiona (Indira Varma), become increasingly curious about Tommy, they find themselves tangled in a disturbing mystery. Catch Coldwater every Sunday on Paramount+.
Girl Taken
Paramount+’s new show, Girl Taken, is already a huge success in 2026. All six episodes are available to stream now, making it a great choice for a weekend binge. The series premiered on January 8th and is quickly becoming one of the platform’s most popular shows.
In the thriller Girl Taken, Alfie Allen—known for his role in Game of Thrones—delivers a gripping performance as Rick Hanson, a teacher who kidnaps one of his students, Lily (Tallulah Evans). The film is adapted from Hollie Overton’s novel of the same name and is currently a hit on Paramount+, ranking as the #3 most-watched show globally, behind only Landman and South Park.
Mayor of Kingstown
If you enjoyed Taylor Sheridan’s Landman but found the second season a little weak, you should check out his best show on Paramount+, Mayor of Kingstown. Fresh off an incredible fourth season – earning a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes – this gripping crime drama is more captivating than ever and perfect for a binge-watch.
Even though there are four seasons of Mayor of Kingstown to watch, it’s absolutely worth the time, as the show consistently improves with each new season. I was completely hooked by season 4 – it was a gripping and masterfully made season, right up to the very last episode which aired in late December.
Now that season 5 of Mayor of Kingstown has been announced, it stands out as the only Taylor Sheridan series currently on Paramount+ that’s really worth watching.
