This Star Wars Overhaul Mod Makes Starfield Really Fun To Play

Since its release in 2023, Starfield has received mixed reactions from players. However, a new mod called Star Wars: Genesis is improving the game for many. Released in 2024, the mod is receiving updates this year, including the addition of lightsabers and features that make the Starfield experience more immersive for PC players.

A modder named DeityVengy created ‘Star Wars: Genesis,’ which is available as a free download on Nexus Mods. The mod tells a brand new story that takes place between the events of the prequel and original Star Wars films. DeityVengy recently shared a preview of an upcoming update – due out before the end of January – that will add even more content to the game.

DeityVengy explains in the video that using a lightsaber in Starfield automatically switches the game to first-person view, because the game’s regular close-combat movements don’t look good enough for lightsaber fights. The clip shows the player character facing off against a Nightsister from Dathomir, who then decides whether to show mercy or kill them.

According to DeityVengy, the creator of the mod, Lucasfilm has officially given permission for the use of Star Wars music in the project. This music comes from various Star Wars video games, including Knights of the Old Republic 1 & 2, The Force Unleashed, and Star Wars: The Old Republic. The mod also features both licensed AI-created voices and performances by real voice actors.

The Star Wars: Genesis game is exclusively for players who own Starfield on PC. Bethesda has already announced that Starfield will receive a new story expansion, and some details about what’s coming were recently shared in a private preview.
