Okay, so Xbox just had its Developer Direct livestream, and it was packed! We got to see a ton of actual gameplay, a bunch of new announcements, and a whole lot of trailers. Basically, it was a deep dive into what they’ve been working on, and as a gamer, I was glued to the screen!
2026 looks like it will be a great year for gamers! We’re eagerly awaiting highly anticipated titles like GTA 6 and Forza Horizon 6, and finally, Fable is expected to launch after being revealed back in 2020.
The Xbox Developer Direct will highlight some of the best games planned for release over the next few years, with gameplay footage and trailers offering a detailed preview. As it also marks Xbox’s 25th anniversary, we can likely anticipate some additional surprises and announcements beyond what’s already been revealed.

When is Developer Direct 2026?
The 2026 Developer Direct event will be held on January 22nd at 10 AM Pacific Time. That’s 1 PM Eastern Time, 6 PM in the UK (GMT), and 7 PM in Central Europe (CET).
We don’t know exactly how long the presentation will last, but the previous one was just under an hour, so we’re expecting this one to be about the same length.

You can watch the Developer Direct on either Twitch or YouTube, specifically on the official Xbox and Bethesda channels.

What games will be covered?
Fable
After six years of development – and a long wait for fans – a new Fable game is almost here. We’ll be getting a detailed look at it during the upcoming Developer Direct, including gameplay footage and a new trailer. This will be the longest, most in-depth preview of the game yet.
Forza Horizon 6
Playground Games, known for creating the Fable series, is about to reveal the first look at gameplay for their upcoming racing game, Forza Horizon 6. The reveal will showcase the game’s setting in Japan, along with the cars and other features players can expect.
Beast of Reincarnation
Finally, we’ll be taking a closer look at Game Freak’s Beasts of Reinarnation, first revealed last year at the Xbox Games Showcase. This action RPG promises fast-paced gameplay, a cute dog buddy named Koo, the ability to control plants, and a stunning post-apocalyptic version of Japan.
