Okay, so Square Enix finally showed off what they were hinting at – it’s a new Dragon Quest game called *Dragon Quest Smash/Grow*! It’s a roguelite RPG, which means every playthrough will be different, and it’s coming to mobile devices sometime in 2026. I’m already hyped!
Dragon Quest Smash/Grow, a new mobile game, is launching on iOS and Android. You can sign up now for a closed beta test that runs until October 2nd. The game will include signature Dragon Quest finishing moves, randomly awarded bonuses, and ensures every playthrough is unique.

Square Enix revealed today that their new mobile Dragon Quest game, Dragon Quest Smash/Grow, is scheduled to launch in 2026. Interested players can sign up now for a closed beta test happening in October, available on iOS through TestFlight and on Android via Google Play.
Dragon Quest Smash/Grow is a fast-paced and addictive RPG where you battle waves of monsters to get stronger. Once powerful enough, you can finish them off with Dragon Quest’s classic finishing moves! You’ll gain random skills called Blessings to customize your character and adapt to each unique challenge, ensuring no two playthroughs are ever alike. It’s a fresh and exciting way to experience the Dragon Quest universe.
I’m so excited! Dragon Quest Smash/Grow is doing a closed beta test from October 14th to October 21st (that’s UTC time). You can actually sign up for it right now! If you’re on iOS, you can pre-register through TestFlight, and Android users can do it via Google Play. The sign-up period ends on October 2nd (UTC), so you’ll want to apply quickly at the link they provided!
