As a huge Elden Ring fan, I’m really excited about the raids in Nightreign! Basically, raids are tough boss fights that can pop up on either the first or second day of your adventures. What’s cool is that each raid feels unique – they’re like special, one-time events. The original game had four, but the Forsaken Hollows DLC added three more! I’ve been looking for a guide that explains all the new raids, how to beat them, and what awesome powers you unlock, and I think I’ve finally found it. It’s going to be a blast!
All DLC Raids in Elden Ring Nightreign
Caligo Raid
The Caligo raid begins with the dragon filling the entire area with dense fog, severely limiting visibility. Caligo also fires ice crystals across the map, which both deal damage and can cause frostbite to build up. Because this raid can be quite frustrating, it’s important to defeat Caligo quickly.
As the raid begins, check your map for a large red area – that’s where Caligo will be. Head there to find the sleeping dragon, and a few attacks will wake it up and finish the raid, rewarding you with a new power.
- Cold Mirage: Conceals oneself when faced with threats to life, neutralizing all attacks.
Gladius (Tricephalos) Raid
The Tricephalos raid can be frustrating. It starts with three large, damaged Tricephalos appearing in separate spots on the map – the red zones will show you where to find them. While the main Tricephalos aren’t overly powerful, they’re protected by smaller enemies. Adding to the challenge, you and your teammates will constantly take fire damage, losing a small amount of health each second during the entire raid.
One of the most frustrating aspects of this raid is how spread out the enemies can appear, which can disrupt a well-planned attempt. Navigating the Great Hollow is already challenging, with the risk of falling off the map, and having the Tricephalos raid enemies spawn there makes it even harder. If you’re playing with a team on Trios and communicating effectively, you can assign each player to focus on a single Sundered Tricephalos, but these enemies can be tough to deal with at the beginning, especially with smaller enemies also attacking. Completing this raid rewards you with:
- Beast’s Hunt: Successive attacks restore stamina and hasten stamina recovery for self and nearby allies.
Balancers Raid

Okay, so the newest raid in the DLC is called Balancers, and it’s actually pretty cool. The moment it starts, we all get teleported to one of three places – either a Blacksmith Village where you can tweak your weapon skills, or an Encampment. Just a heads-up, you’ll lose some of your flasks at the beginning, but they’ll slowly refill as we take down each Balancer boss.
You’ll encounter Balancers near each boss, and you’ll need to defeat them. This can be tricky because you’re fighting both the Balancers and the boss at the same time. Luckily, Balancers don’t have much health and are relatively easy to take down, so prioritize them. Defeating all three will restore your Health Flasks and unlock a new ability.
- Power to Balance the World: Rise from near-death unaided on occasion. Attack power increases after rising from near-death.
