The Game Awards opened with a surprise announcement: a brand new Star Wars game! Called Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, this single-player RPG is being described as a spiritual successor to the popular KOTOR game. You can check out the first trailer below.
I’m super excited about this new game! It’s being made by Arcanaut Studios, and get this – Casey Hudson, who directed KOTOR and the whole Mass Effect trilogy, is leading the development. They’re saying it’s going to be a huge, interactive story where the choices I make will really matter, pushing me towards the light side or the dark side. Sounds awesome!
The upcoming game, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, is being built using Unreal Engine 5 and will be available on both PC and gaming consoles. Currently, there’s no confirmed release date.
