Hank McCoy was one of the first X-Men and acted as the team’s main scientist. However, he didn’t stay with the X-Men for long, eventually joining the Avengers. After spending time with various teams in the 1970s and 80s, Hank returned to the X-Men in the 1990s, coinciding with the popular animated series.

Beast has always been a popular character, appearing in numerous animated series and films. Storm, also known as Ororo Munroe, first joined the X-Men in the pages of Giant-Size X-Men #1. She has the incredible ability to control the weather. Storm discovered she was a mutant during a meeting with Professor Xavier. While she started as a quiet member of the team, she eventually became a strong leader, even stepping in to lead when Cyclops was absent.

Storm was always a popular character, but Alison Sealy-Smith’s amazing voice acting in X-Men: The Animated Series made her even more beloved. She’s a leading Black hero in the Marvel Universe and arguably the most prominent Black character associated with the X-Men.

Storm has become incredibly popular, even landing her own comic book series. She’s also been involved in some well-known relationships, notably a marriage to Black Panther.

Cyclops Has Been There From The Beginning

Scott Summers was one of the very first X-Men, personally recruited by Professor Xavier. After becoming an orphan when his parents died in a plane crash, Xavier helped Scott control his powerful energy beams and use them to help others.
