Sony Might Have Leaked Leon Kennedy In Resident Evil Requiem

Even though Resident Evil Requiem isn’t out for a couple of months, fans might be in for a surprise. The PlayStation Store briefly showed new cover art for the game featuring Leon Kennedy, a popular character from the Resident Evil series. Players with the standard (non-Deluxe) version of the game on PlayStation 5 spotted the artwork while starting the pre-download.

IGN verified the artwork, which depicts a weathered and unshaven Leon standing over Grace Ashcroft, the other lead character in Requiem. He looks much like his appearance in Resident Evil 4, sporting his signature leather jacket with fur lining, but seems more worn and battle-hardened.

Okay, so Capcom was super insistent that those leaks about Leon being in the game weren’t true. Like, they really shut it down. Even the producer, Masato Kumazawa, specifically called out those pictures of Leon with an eyepatch that were going around last month. He told Stevivor it was all fake news – no DLC, no new costume, nothing. He basically said don’t believe everything you see online, which, honestly, is good advice!

Despite efforts to keep Leon’s part a secret, the new Resident Evil game, Requiem, still has some unexpected reveals. A recent GameStop listing hinted at another unannounced character: Rosemary Winters. Fans believe she’ll likely have a minor role, and if she appears, she’ll still have both of her eyes.

Resident Evil Requiem launches on February 27, 2026, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, and PC.
