Players of Hollow Knight: Silksong have noticed a small but noticeable mistake in one of the game’s later cutscenes: a mouse cursor that shouldn’t be there. Once you see it, it’s hard to unsee!
Okay, so Silksong totally lived up to the hype for me, and a lot of other players I’ve talked to. Yeah, some people are saying it’s brutally hard, but honestly, the world they built is massive and gorgeous, the levels are super creative, and the boss fights? Seriously epic. It’s gotten amazing reviews for a reason!
Fans recently discovered a noticeable error in Act 3 that’s being compared to the famous coffee cup blunder in Game of Thrones.
Silksong devs accidentally leave mouse cursor in cutscene
A Reddit user, SooperWooper7044, pointed out that a mouse cursor briefly appears on screen during a key cutscene in the game. This happens near the beginning of Act 3, when the player uses the bell to travel down into The Abyss beneath Pharloom as the story nears its conclusion.
The cursor flashes briefly, making it easy to miss – which explains why it hasn’t been noticed until now. However, we’ve confirmed it appears in gameplay videos from multiple players, including WilliamGlenn8 and Rizado.
We’ve marked it on this screenshot from BeardBear’s video to give you a clear look:

The mistake is minor and doesn’t break the game, but once you notice it, it’s hard to unsee. The developers, Team Cherry, will likely address it in an update, and in the meantime, fans are already trying to explain what’s happening.
One player suggested that the scene might be shown from a camera within the ship, operated by someone watching a monitor.
“Clearly it’s intentional as it’s an homage to their PC fans,” joked another.
Honestly, the stuff people are finding in Silksong isn’t even new. I remember when Pokemon Sword and Shield launched back in 2019, there was a mouse cursor just hanging out in the final cutscene and credits – it was super distracting! It’s kinda crazy to see that happen again in another big release.
Unlike the previous cursor, the one in Silksong is much more subtle. Because of this, even if it stays in the game, it will probably just become a charming detail related to the world of Hollow Knight, rather than a serious issue that ruins the gameplay.
